"The sales rep (Lou) was very supportive. We were looking for a specific brand of flooring (Verostone) that is only available at Armstrong Carpet One stores. He helped us with samples to evaluate in home. He also patiently supported us in our deliberations on the flooring including color selections and installation method. The price was competitive. The work team was very much a refreshing change. Dave Jeffers did excellent work and treated our home and belongings with extreme care. The work crew was on time and polite. We are very happy with their work."

"After the remnants of Hurricane Sandy hit Cleveland, our finished basement was flooded. I looked at Home Depot, and some of the big name carpet places, but before I pulled the trigger on any of that I got a recommendation from my brother-in-law to check this place out. It is in midtown Cleveland, and it feels a bit more like a warehouse than a showroom, but there is a good reason for that. They don't spend a lot of money on advertising, a fancy showroom, or other frivolities, and you reap the benefits of that. The prices are terrific and the service is unbeatable. Josh Cohen worked with us, and he is the kind of guy you wish you could work with on every project. He was extremely helpful and gave honest answers, but never pressured us on anything we didn't want. After we went to the showroom and picked out the carpet, Josh came out to our house the next day and measured precisely. I believe we went in on a Friday, and it was installed by the next Wednesday, which was awesome. If I had bought at Home Depot I would have been waiting nearly a month. The guys who installed it were great; they have been one of Carpet Capitol's crews for something like 30 years they said. I have nothing but good things to say about the whole experience. What a great price for a whole basement of wall-to-wall carpeting. <br /> As a side note, Josh is a pretty talented artist. Not only does he run the main carpet business, he also creates rug art. A unique and extremely neat skill, he can create nearly anything you have in mind. I particularly enjoyed the Star Wars rug you see on his website, but that's just me. <br />"

"After shopping at a different location for carpet we went into Quality Carpet. We learned more about carpet than we did at the previous location. Sales person was very helpful in finding carpet in our price point and in the materials that would work best for the room we were carpeting. Installation people we on time and very nice. Got the pad and carpet installed within 2 hours. This included moving 2 couches and a treadmill. <br />"

"<p>They did a very nice job both the times and they stayed within their estimate. They were very punctual. They are right down the street for me. They came over and gave me the best estimate. They did exactly what they said they were going to do. They charged me $400 for the last service. I was very pleased since they gave us a good price for decent carpeting with a good packing. They were very prompt. I had no trouble with them whatsoever. I hope to use them again when I do the rest of my house. </p>"

"This is the fourth time that my family has worked with Frederick's for our carpeting needs, and they never disappoint! When our closing date for our new home was delayed by several days, Micki did not give up until she could find an alternative time for our carpet install before the revised move date. The installers arrived ahead of schedule and worked efficiently and professionally, thanking us several times for the opportunity to do the work in our home. It looks great and we would never use anyone else!"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Lodi, OH

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
