"The All Weather Guard team did a lot of work in one smooth, efficiently coordinated day. Eighty seven years and three layers of old roof tiles came off, new ones were installed, and no trace of debris was left. All done before the sun set. The next day damaged fascia boards were repaired for gutter installation on the following workday. We now have no water in the basement when it rains and the home looks beautiful. Thank you Brian and your team for a wonderful job done!"

"The contractor was prompt in responding to my inquiry but unfortunately responded that they do not provide a roof repair service. My overall rating reflects the fact that they had an excellent response, but could not help me, so their overall rating is fair."

"Barb and her team are fantastic! We received a letter from our home owner's insurance company telling us that we needed to have mold and lichen removed from our roof or face costly penalties. As new home owners, the last thing we needed was to replace our roof after all the expenses of closing, moving, and making repairs. Barb came out to assess our roof, which turned out to be in great shape. Some close-proximity trees created the mold and lichen situation. With an expert consultation and some helpful instructions, Barb set us up for service. The team that came out to clean our roof was friendly, knowledgeable, efficient, and safety-focused. We had our roof and siding cleaned, which brought both amazing curb appeal and peace of mind knowing that we no longer had harmful lichen and mold that could damage our roof. I would highly recommend Roof Renew Pros LLC."

"After getting quotes from 4 other companies for replacing our roof, we picked Tom Jannace Roofing. Several of our quotes were around the same price, but Tom who lives locally was able to convince me that they could do the job within a few days, as well as include all the things we wanted done in the price. As I was uncomfortable picking a roof color without seeing the colors installed on a roof, Tom drove me around pointing out the colors I was choosing from. Our roof was very professionally installed less than a week later. The workman carefully put up tarps to avoid throwing the old roof shingles on the flower beds. They cleaned up very carefully afterwards. The new roof looks amazing."

"I had them to redo my whole roof 1.5 year ago and I found a piece of shingle fell off recently. I contacted the owner and they stood behind their work and promise. He quickly scheduled a follow-up and sent his team to fix it in a short period of time. In these days you can easily find any contractors do the work and work away with your money. However once the job is done, you will never see them again when there are any issues. This will not happen to Hi Tech Contracting as they are professional, responsible and trustworthy. Highly recommended!"

"We hired Mike and his company to lay down a new roof and new skylights for us. Mike was helpful from the start by comparing products and what would work best for us. When the job started, his guys were there early in the morning and worked all day. The guys were super nice and respectful. They were immaculate in cleaning up. The roof and skylights all came out better than our expectations."

"there are After having worked with five contractors on home renovations over the course of some 35 years. Mr. Mastrototaro (owner of Talex, Inc.) was bar none the finest craftsman and contractor we have ever have, He takes painstaking care to make sure that everything is cut and measured and installed to perfection, as well as oversaw the larger installations of the rood, siding and doors and ensured us that everything was done in both a timely and professional manner. <br /> For example, our home is surrounded by specimen trees and plantings. He made sure that they were protected from the roof and siding debris that was removed and that workers did not tread where plantings were hidden (since it was December everything lay dormant) and could have been damaged. After the conclusion of every workday, our home was broom clean as well. My husband even commented that it might have been cleaner than usual. <br /> When there were unexpected delays due to inclement weather or material delivery scheduling, he reschedule his work plan, and always contacted me in a timely fashion. I also appreciated that prior to installing any of the building material he measured, remeasured and corroborated all of his measurements with the stats provided by the building material's manufacturer insuring us that this was top quality work. His attention to detail, down the the fraction of an inch, may have slowed down the reno project but the result is a brand new 70 year-old house. <br /> There are a few minor items left on a punch-out list and I have no doubt that they too will be done and with the same professional attention to detail. <br /> We cannot thank Mr. Mastrototaro enough for making this process (although interrupted a few times) easy and we are enjoying and taking pride in our new old home once again. Superb job! <br /> <br /> <br />"

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Long Beach, NY

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
