"This company is a two man operation. They were the best carpet cleaners we have ever had! Thorough, professional, and the carpets look amazing. Our carpets are very old, original to our home. They have never looked better! We were thinking we may have to replace carpet, but no need now. Spots got extra attention and they were successful. Very high recommendation for A+ Carpet Cleaning. Will never hire anyone else."

"I contacted Sebastian's Carpet Care to get a quote on cleaning our basement carpet. The person on the phone stated that they could not give me a quote until they saw the carpet, but did give me a price range since I had the square footage. I was satisfied with the price range and scheduled the work. They called a before days before the appointment to confirm they had us on the schedule. Nathan showed up a bit early and did a great job. The price was close to the phone estimate. We will use Sebastian's again."

"This was a great experience from the start! On the phone he gave me the exact information I needed to figure out the cost. In our home , he provided us a lot of good information about the carpet and did an amazing job on the stretching. It is back to looking like newly installed carpet! Pricing was very fair for the work done and he even helped me with the install of a wood floor edge piece that had been broken for a few months. Over and above my expectations. Would definitely recommend and use again."

Dan was extremely professional, polite and patient with us as we went through the process of getting quotes until the install of our backsplash.  During the quote process, Dan made recommendations that we hadn't previously thought of or heard from other contractors as we looked to design the backsplash.  This included having an edge in certain areas for finishing and installing it to counter-height behind our gas stove in case we were to purchase a lower one in the future.

After getting the quote, we had a lengthy delay in proceeding with the project.  This delay was entirely on us as we were trying to decide if we wanted to install under-cabinet lighting prior to the backsplash.  Throughout our delay, Dan would check in every so often and never responded as if he was inconvenienced by our delay.  We had already told him that we wanted him to install our backsplash.

Once we finally decided to move forward, Dan was responsive on getting dates set up for the installation.  I was able to choose from many grout color options to find one that looked great with our tile.  The backsplash was initially installed on the first day and they came back the next day to grout and finish, etc.  During both days Dan and his associate kept the area clean, were polite and kept cognizant of the fact that we were working from our home.  The finished product looks great, the recommendations that Dan made really finished off the space well.  I will look to Dan and Rapid Regrout for my future tiling and grouting needs.  Great work!

Bob was great!  I called on a Friday to get a quote and he was able to stop out the very next morning.  We removed the carpet, painted the concrete with epoxy paint and prepped the area ourselves.  Bob told us exactly how much carpet to order, and even picked it up from Menards the morning of the installation.  He was speedy, professional, and we couldn't be more pleased with his work.  Our basement is now usable and looks inviting and comfortable thanks to Bob!

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Long Lake, MN

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
