"they came out and did the bid, lowest price of 4 companies. Gonzalez measured it out, and walked me through what I wanted. Only took 2 days to rip out maybe 100 sq feet of old concrete, frame in the newer larger size i wanted. The job was pretty intense and in my back yard, so they had to build a ramp across my steps for the wheel barrows. They cleaned up after and I am very satisfied with the overall job!"

"I originally called F/X repairs several months before we actually met but because the closing of the property kept getting delayed in escrow, I kept having to delay getting bids to repair the place for rental. I asked Bob at that time to call me back in two weeks which he did. He was friendly, we got delayed again, he called again and each time he called back exactly when he said he would. Finally, in late November we closed on the property and he came by the next week to give me a bid. He checked out all the things I wanted done, wrote down the repairs needed, looked at what needed painting and wrote everything down. I liked him a lot and was thinking I was likely to use him for the whole project if the bid was in my ballpark between $3500-5000. He told me he'd get me the proposal and bid on Friday (it was Wednesday) and we parted very friendly. Then nothing. Nothing. No call. No email. I waited 10 days, got other bids and went another direction. I was a bid dumbfounded because he had been so friendly. Curiosity finally got the better of me and I gave him a call just to find out what happened. I actually wondered if something bad might have happened. Anyway, he was apologetic, said he had no excuse, and just didn't get it done. Oh well, no harm no foul. I guess I'm glad I didn't hire him and find out later he (they) just wouldn't show up.

"Rainland was in the process of replacing my neighbor's driveway, front steps. retaining wall and sidewalks. I made an offhand remark to Tony (Rainland) about doing my driveway. Later he came over and said he could give me a good price and do the work while he was waiting for permits next door. We agreed on the price and work to be done and Rainland started. They removed the old, cracked driveway and side step, set forms, then poured, stamped, and colored. Tony kept me informed of their schedule and other details. The driveway is ready except for sealing (and it's too cold right now) and the side step should be installed this week. I am pleased with their work and will call them back in the spring to replace the front porch, step, and walkway."

FAQs for asphalt paving repair or patch projects in Longview, WA

With routine maintenance, a new residential asphalt driveway can last 15 to 20 years. In regions with heavy rain or freeze-thaw cycles, plan on extra maintenance to hit the upper end of that range. Concrete surfaces last even longer, from 20 to 25 years. Regular sealing and quick crack repairs go a long way toward preserving both materials.

You can pour new concrete over an existing driveway as long as the base slab is solid. Pros often place a three- to four-inch overlay to create a strong bond. If the old concrete is cracked or spalling badly, it’s wiser to remove it and start fresh to ensure durability.

Keep the surface in top shape by sealing it on schedule and tackling damage right away. Roll on a quality seal coat every three years for asphalt, and reseal concrete as needed while patching any flaws you spot. Staying ahead of small issues prevents bigger, pricier repairs and keeps your driveway looking sharp.
