"Since I had previously been very impressed with Salvador Gallardo / Authentic Landscape on an urgent repair for our leaking irrigation valve system, I called on him again for my long dreamed of overhaul of our entire front and back yard beginning May 22, 2024. He advertises "You can be sure that you will receive quality work with a personal touch" which is exactly what I needed. I had a rather vague plan and relied on his expertise to help develop my dream. The major goal was to completely remove all the turf, leaving only the trees, a grape arbor (which Salvador needed to redesign and expand), and a couple areas of plants. We used a turf replacement rebate and he and Jesus, plus his sons Christian and Jesse, spent 2 weeks digging out all the nasty weeds and a several-inch layer of dirt. Our irrigation system was converted to sprinklers for the garden areas and drip lines around the outer areas of trees and original landscape plants plus a new control unit. Some of the trees required some pruning also. It was fun working with Salvador to figure just where my front and back “gardens” and pebble pathways would go. We added slabs of flagstone around the front and back faucets and replaced the remaining area with shredded wood. Additionally, he replaced one entire gate and had to redesign and repair of my second gate. My back garden is essentially a lawn replacement of ground cover plants, and the front garden utilized a lot of succulents and several other plants dug out and from my pots plus lots of poppy seeds. We added some ground cover and a variety of other plants I found on clearance sales. We incorporated my collection of granite rocks, and I’ve continued detailing with decorative features to make my “Never Too Late For A Happy Childhood” theme garden with fairy, farm, lighthouse, and Santa and reindeer areas, lots of solar lights/fireworks, windchimes, spinners, toys and sculptures, While reasonably priced, it was an expensive project but, after 20 years of dreaming, so worth the smile I can’t quit. Obviously I continue to highly recommend Salvador and Authentic Landscape. The guys worked very hard and were a pleasure to have around. Being able to make well advised adjustments as work progressed was a great advantage to accomplishing my desires."

"Job went well, Bob is very creative and did all of the work with a limited crew so he was very hands on. We lost a large oak during the storm and the tree company damaged the yard since it was wet, in getting the tree out. Decided to replace the lawn and redesign the space. Bob was the only bidder that actually looked at the sprinkler valve box after I described some of the problems we were having with the lawn. He wasn't the lowest or highest bidder either. He works afternoons into the early evening which takes some getting used to but he definitely gets the job done!"

"Alvaro Mantar did a very good job replacing the concrete apron in front of our garage and blending it into the existing sidewalk. About 110 square feet. Project included correcting the grade for better drainage and hauling away the debris. Job was done in one day and at a very reasonable price. I should note Alvaro was the only contractor who came on-site before submitting a bid. Other contractors just bid based on photos."

"Number one in communications and top attention in details. We worked with Geico Builders to build our addition, ADU and install pavers on the front of the house. Overall the process took us almost one year they were delays from the city of Oakland on approval plans despite that Victor went above and beyond and smooth all process once they got to actual building. He work hard to make progress easy on our addition especially with tough Inspectors. The quality of our new ADU well-built, and the bathroom has a great tile work with precise attention to details. Their price was not the cheapest one but for the amount of time and quality of work it’s very well deserved, we feel like we got good value for the money we paid. We do recommend Geico Builders and especially Victor to all who is looking for quality work."

"I highly recommend Lavish Gardens to cover any of your landscaping needs. I had prepared a design for our small ~400 square foot patio that included new concrete, three small trees, several accent plants, and an expanded fence and pathway down the side of our home. I was pretty overwhelmed in the initial phases of receiving multiple estimates until I met with Michael and felt that he genuinely cared about my project and that I could trust his team. Michael, Ivan, and his team were highly professional and flexible throughout the whole process. Michael was great to work with to bring the design to life and provided many helpful tips and suggestions while maintaining our original vision and keeping the cost within our budget. Ivan was also one of the best supervisors that I have worked with. He was flexible with any design changes during the job, paid close attention to all the intricate details, and worked hard to get the job done within their estimated time frame. The team made sure to clean after themselves after every day, leaving the work site safe and organized and the street cleaned up of any work materials that were used that day. I also had to leave town during the construction for and they were fine with putting things on hold until I returned, yet informed me that they could continue the work if I preferred. Michael and Ivan were great at answering any questions that I had to maintain the plants after the job completion. The project was completed ahead of schedule and the final product was everything that I imagined and more. My wife and I are so excited to be able to enjoy our new backyard and the amount of additional space and privacy we got out of expanding the fence is amazing. If you find yourself in a similar situation as myself where you felt like you couldn’t decide on which landscaping service to use, you found your team. Thank you again, Lavish gardens!
