I engaged him to demolish and rebuild virtually all of the hardscape at my home---driveway, side walkways, French drain, brick patio inserts, and over 150 feet of retaining walls. A 7-week job, with more than a few moving parts. Joe’s team, Enrique and Claudio, worked like stunt men in a choreographed manner, carefully removing thousands of pounds of old concrete and cinder blocks, positioning rebar and framing the sites for cement. The worksite was clean and orderly at the end of each day. Then, 2 generations of Messineo---Joe, with a guest appearance by his father, built a complex series of retaining walls and brick inserts, that will clearly last decades longer than the original work from 1959. Every line dead-level, every elevation plumb, and every surface finished perfectly. The concrete team that completed the job with 2 truckloads of wet mix, delivered flawless slabs of new surface. I was so impressed with the crew's work that I asked Michael to bid on finishing a courtyard and a pool change area. Of three quotes that I received, Michael was competitively priced, comprehensive and clear where the cost was allocated and where extras might lie. Michael had a sub-contractor come in to do carpentry while his own crew completed stone work. All crew were professional and skilled. "Jeff Arellano was subcontracted by Bob Palacios who had originally specced the job.  The two of them showed up a  few days before the job started to go over the details.  The day of the job his crew showed up on time and worked cleanly and efficiently.  At one point we had to get more rock as I had failed to get enough and we had trouble with a rock yard that I had bought stone from, but he knew where to go and he was able to find much better quality stone for the job.   Every day, at the end of the day, the work area was swept and the rocks put aside.  It was always neat and tidy.  But what was really striking was the exceptional esthetic quality of the workmanship.  Jeff has an artisans attention to detail with a workman's approach to the job.  He is the real deal, a great stone mason with a good eye.  And he's polite, all his crew are very well mannered and they go out of their way to make sure you're happy.

"EZ Genesis Builderz Inc This is the second time we have used EZ Genesis Builderz for a major project for our home. Our driveway is next to some tall trees and roots from those trees have been spreading out for years and have raised and cracked major portions of the driveway. EZ Genesis Builderz came out right away and measured everything so that they would demolish the old driveway, cut out the roots, redo the slope on the drive and pour a new driveway with used brick lining the edges and running the width in two places. The mason who did the brickwork and directed the project had previously replaced a broken brick patio in our backyard and his work was outstanding. We also had an old redwood gate leading from the drive to the backyard. They replaced that with a gate that was a wrought iron frame with interior redwood slats. It looks great and functions much better than the old gate. The time from estimate to completion of work on the driveway was less than a week and the gate went in a few days later. EZ Genesis Builderz has been reliable and priced fairly. I wouldn’t hesitate to highly recommend them or use their services again."

"DiBara Masonry is a hidden gem. I had them take care of a small project of fixing loose stones around my house. They did an amazing job finding the stones and matching the cement in between. I was nervous about them finding the matching stones or making it all look in sync but I could not be happier with how it looks!! Do yourself a favor and hire them."
