"Watts Plastering did a great job on a major home stucco repair project! The quality of work was excellent and they even repaired areas on the house that we had not discussed. I also appreciated the meticulous clean-up when the job was finished. Michael and Alfredo were always on time and were a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend Watts Plastering!"

"I opted to go with a slightly cheaper company since I just wanted to have a small area of stucco redone within a budget, however Derrick is definitely an honest and helpful guy who knows his stuff so I would highly recommend this business."

"George and his entire crew went far above and beyond. They were respectful, hardworking, and caring. They traced and found the source of a mysterious roof leak that skipped the top two floors and came out of the first floor light cans. He checked in before and after, repaired my roof with the highest quality of materials, and cleaned my gutters. They are leak detectives and professionals!"

"ROC Construction Group transformed my house into a dream home! Daniel and his team remodeled my kitchen and 3 bathrooms. From the beginning, Daniel was very knowledgeable, reliable, and always responded quickly to inquiries. His estimate was in the range of several others I had gotten, but I went with ROC because I felt Daniel was the most trustworthy. Daniel was on site daily which I appreciated since he was the one who knew the details of what I wanted. He never cut corners and instead always informed me of any repairs or pre-existing defects that needed to be corrected to ensure I won’t have any functional problems in the long run. Timeliness is very important to Daniel, and he even put in extra hours on weekends to ensure my project finished within the stated timeframe. Daniel was also very patient and understanding. I had accidentally picked fixtures with mismatching colors. Even though he had already installed them by the time I realized my mistake, he went the extra mile by offering to change them. What I appreciated most is that Daniel never said “no” to any of my requests, even when I was being overly picky or demanding. He always listened to my ideas with an “anything is possible” attitude, and the final result was incredible! I absolutely love my new bathrooms and kitchen. Everyone I showed them to were extremely impressed and said everything looks very modern and high-end. Overall, Daniel is an outstanding contractor who is honest, does high quality work, respects deadlines, and will go above and beyond to make sure you are happy with the final result. ROC Construction Group gets my highest recommendation!"

FAQs for traditional stucco repair or partially replace projects in Los Angeles, CA

Minor stucco fixes—like sealing small cracks or adding fresh caulk—often wrap up in an hour or two. Larger jobs that call for cutting out damaged sections, installing new lath, and layering fresh stucco can stretch to three or four days because each coat needs time to cure. A pro removes loose material, cleans and dampens the area, applies a bonding agent, and builds up new layers, matching texture and restoring the wall’s weather shield.

Watch for a stucco surface that stays damp days after a storm, develops dark stains, or feels soft or spongy under light pressure. Inside, moisture rings, peeling paint, or soft drywall around windows point to the same issue. Any of these red flags mean water is trapped behind the siding, and it’s time to call a stucco pro before rot or mold sets in.

Give your stucco a once-over every spring and fall. Semiannual checks let you catch hairline cracks, stains, or damp spots before they snowball into pricey repairs. Keep a flashlight handy, look closely around windows and doors, and call a pro if you notice anything soft or discolored. Staying ahead of minor issues protects both your curb appeal and your home’s weather barrier.

A pro starts by scraping away loose material, then cleans and lightly wets the area so new stucco will stick. After brushing on a bonding agent, they build fresh layers, letting each coat cure before adding the next. The final step is matching the texture and color so the patch blends in and the wall regains full weather protection.

Think of repair as a patch: the pro fixes only the visible crack or hole. Remediation goes deeper—crews strip away the compromised stucco, correct the root problem (often water or mold), then rebuild the wall. If tests show structural rot or trapped moisture, remediation is the safer, longer-lasting route; otherwise, a straightforward repair often does the trick.
