"This is my first time leaving a review for a company as I've never felt the need to, but using Pacific Environmental I feel I should share with my home owners. My husband and I bought out first home which we love but a room had acoustic ceiling. I reach out to PEAS, which everyone in the office was very helpful and patient on guiding me through this experience. Their scheduling was amazing as I was dealing with Closing Escrow and moving my family in. Once they arrived, they informed me on the scope of work and what they would be doing and what to expect, this being my 8-year-old son room so I was a bit worried on hazardous material that was being removed and used. CONTAINMENT WAS AMAZING! I was so happy and felt so safe on how they kept the area and the protection they took to take care of my family and themselves. My kids thought the crew looked pretty cool too, haha. CLEANING WAS AMAZING! Work was conducted upstairs and they went the extra mile and cleaned everything they touched, I really appreciate that, as it again made me feel secure and safe. PEAS left a memorial memory our kids still talk about. I strongly recommend them and would use them again."

"Absolutely amazing experience. My home radon levels were averaging 5.0 pCi/L. Two days after Edward and his team finished the mitigation job the levels went down to 0.3. Incredible result. I can’t be happier."

"He was friendly, very professional, and answered all my questions clearly about how mold happens in a home. His reasonable estimate and scope of work. What are the steps for mold remediation? Furthermore, I had delicate items around the work area. He was very successful in making sure that nothing was damaged. "Think floor demolition in a China shop" where none of the dishes gets broken. I highly recommend restoration Hunter if you have to deal with mold in the home."

"Really sad and disappointed we chose this company. The results look unappealing crooked lines. Late everyday. Weird hours. 9pm. Leaving a mess and throwing grout in our septic area. Omg. Just all bad. He insisted on cash payments and if a check To his personal name. He doesn’t want checks going to his company he said"

"Mike Cantor (20/20 Advanced Property & Mold Inspection) was referred to us by a family member when we recently brought a home. He is the absolute best, most thorough, and professional inspector we have worked with. Mike responded immediately when we contacted him for a home inspection that we wanted done ASAP because of our short escrow time. We were able to set up the inspection in the same week. Mike arrived early on the date of inspection around 8:45 am (start time was 9:00 am). He requested about 7 hours to perform the inspection which caught the owner and realtor both by surprised as most home inspector only gave a cursory 3 hours inspection. Mike was meticulous in his inspection and took time to points out many aspects of the house's construction, remodeling, and reconstruction that we were unaware of. He was extremely detailed in his inspection and documentation with videos, still photos, and even drones (to inspect the roof). Mike was still going strong around the 7th hours which irked the seller/ realtor but was extremely favorable and reassuring to us when we are making such a large purschase/ investment. Mike is a little bit more expensive than your run of the mills home inspector but he is worth every pennies and more. He ended up discovering multiple issues with our house that were not apparent to us on our examinations. We ended up negotiating with the owner to reduce the sale price by $40,000. Mike continued to help us with recommendations after the completion of the inspection on vendors (termite, landscaper, roofer, etc) who he felt were reliable. We can honestly say that Mike Cantor truly loves his work and he is the only inspector we are going to use or recommend going forward. Can't thank you enough Mike."

"Overall experience Terrific. Joseph is one of the most honest, straight forward guys out there. I am very thankful with God that he leasing me in the right way so that I would choose his company over the other companies out there. I’m the beginning I thought that the price was a bit high for my budget but then later I realized the skill level that he does in each one of his kinds of inspection he offers is unbelievable. I owe Joseph my life he helped me convince myself that there truly was a serious mold problem with the house that I just bought not even 1 year ago. So I moved out from my new home in the mean time before my health continues to get in more delicate situation. The mold odor has now begun to cause me to have asthma which I never ever had before in my life. The bank/ realtor Home inspection report of the home never caught any of this bad mal fowl odor and mold infestation from underneath the home. It’s crazy how some of these home inspection still are able to keep their business license when they are worth no good at all. Trust me you won’t regret yourself by choose Guaranteed Property and Mold Inspections. They are by far the best out there. They provided me with a very detailed reports which has lab results from samples they sent out and everything."

FAQs for radon gas testing projects in Los Angeles, CA

Radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the U.S. The gas seeps through cracks in foundations and collects in basements and other low areas. Once you breathe it in, radioactive particles lodge in lung tissue and do long-term damage. Because you can’t see or smell radon, the EPA recommends testing your home every two years—and after major renovations—to keep your family safe.

Yes—every home should be tested. The EPA advises doing it at least every two years and any time you remodel, buy, or sell. On average, one in 15 houses nationwide sits above the recommended limit, and the only way to know where yours stands is a formal test. The equipment simply measures gas levels and won’t change your indoor environment, so the process is completely harmless.

Certified radon professionals—often home inspectors or dedicated radon mitigation contractors—handle testing. These radon testing professionals follow EPA protocols and use calibrated instruments to check levels throughout your house. Hiring a certified radon specialist means results you can trust for real estate deals, insurance requirements, and, most importantly, your family’s health.

Inspectors specialize in measuring radon gas levels, while licensed mitigation contractors design and install the systems that remove it. If your test comes back high, your inspector can point you to a qualified mitigation pro who will size and install the right fan, piping, or other equipment to bring levels down.

No—standard home air purifiers don’t touch radon. They’re built to trap dust and pollen, not radioactive gas. If testing shows high levels, you’ll need a dedicated mitigation system that vents the gas from beneath your home to the outdoors. Relying on a room purifier alone won’t keep your indoor air safe.

Opening a few windows in your home might dilute radon for a short time, but the gas seeps back in as soon as they’re closed. For a lasting fix, you’ll need a professional mitigation system—often a sub-slab depressurization fan—that pulls radon from beneath the foundation and safely vents it outside.
