"We expanded a ground floor family room, which required complete exterior and interior construction, with stacked stone to match existing exterior. Existing plumbing, electrical, and duct work had to be moved around. The room has a 5x10 closet with pull-down attic door and insulted attic above. A bay build-out added space to our dining room, and we added a walk-in pantry to the kitchen. Materials were included in the total price but not broken out. The contractor underestimated either the amount of stone needed or the cost of the (available) stone required to match the existing exterior. He covered about $400 of the additional materials cost; we covered about $1000 at his request. Lesson learned: In the contract, stipulate the dollar amount designated for special materials. Other than that and some slow downs due to occasional absent workers, the job went as planned and we're happy with the result. We appreciated the daily clean-up as it was a lengthy project and just living with the upheaval was at times a challenge. Mark had a cleaning crew come one weekend to help keep things in order."

"I called Jess after learning from two other handyman and/or roofing repair services (both highly-rated by Angie's List) that it would be at least $150-$250 and two weeks for them to get to me. Jess was on another job, but was at a stopping point. He went to his shop, picked up a ladder and went by my house to see what it would take to fix the ridge vent on my roof. When my son and I got home, he wanted to see the hole in the roof so I took him out back and to our surprise, Jess had already been there and repaired the problem and another small problem he noted while he was up there. "<p>Given the incorrect start date by Judy at the Knoxville main office. Bad start. Crew arrived the next day and began  working hard and diligently to complete the repair in a timely fashion. Weather and difficult shale soil slowed the work somewhat. </p> The crew chief Brian, as well as the entire onsite staff were professional and dedicated to a job well done. "The damage was assessed from the basement and it was determined that the foundation was sound,however, there was an area where the water had been able to ( over the years) create a small ravine through which the water could access the basement. As the downpipe was blocked and we had a severe rainstorm the basement was assessable to the large amount of water frowing from the blocked downpipe. The workmen accessed the damaged area from the outside and repaired the area under the foundation and extended the downpipe so that future water would be taken away from the house by over 15ft. This was done quickly in one day. and we have not experienced any further damage."

"I had some creaking floors, cracked tiles in my kitchen, and a very broken set of tiles in the corner of my bathroom that I wanted to fix, but worried that they were a result of a problem with my foundation. Not wanting to keep patching something up and never address the root of the problem, I checked out Angie's List for "foundation repair" and called Ameri-Dry to set up an appointment. <br /> The receptionist (or whoever answered the phone) was courteous and professional, and set up an appointment for just a few days later based on my work schedule. I had a follow-up phone call the day before my scheduled appointment to confirm the work that they were coming to do, and ensure that they were sending an inspector who was experienced in the type of problems I was having. <br /> On the day of service, the inspector, Chad, arrived right on time. We walked through the house and I showed him my problem areas, then he went into the crawlspace to check the foundation around the perimeter of the house. When he came back up to let me know what he had found, I of course feared the worst, but he told me he couldn't find a single problem with my foundation, that it all looked good. Part of me was bracing for a "but you need waterproofing" sales pitch, but that never came. He did say there was a little water on one wall inside, but I knew why (a clogged downspout during a storm a week earlier) and had already taken steps to fix that problem. <br /> I was obviously very happy with the outcome of the inspection, and even though I didn't have any work done, I really came away impressed with the professionalism and honesty in the way this company seems to do business.
