"It took about a week to build. They are not quite finished. They need to pressure wash the deck and underside of the roof. One panel on the siding near the roof of deck is painted flat back instead of a gloss or satin finish like the other panels. The weather is cold and snowy so I understand the delay. We like the crew and the work they did. We would have them back."

"When the square footage of your circular driveway rivals that of your 4 bedroom house you get multiple quotes. James at Powerhouse Construction was great to work with and the finished project was excellent. He walked through all the items he was going to complete such as saw cut control joints, drilled rebar for joining to the garage, and why he uses those methods. I received 5 quotes and he was the only one to include the finishing work of bringing in topsoil and seeding after the concrete work was completed. Since having the driveway replaced, I have gotten multiple comments form neighbors and even people driving by regarding how good it looks. James and his team persevered through several unforeseen obstacles such as parts of the originally driveway being 12” thick, some areas having zero gravel underneath, some areas having round river stone (not great for compacting), and a record 4” of rain one evening that turned the job site into a giant mud pit complicating work for almost a week. James brought in ~100 tons of crushed stone which they compacted multiple times to ensure a solid foundation for the concrete. He even filled the large hole I dug for the basketball hoop with concrete as they were pouring that section of driveway (I dug the hole, set, and braced the post, but avoiding the mixing 12+ bags of concrete by hand was a nice bonus) The job did take longer than planned and there were a few equipment issues, and as mentioned weather issues, but the final product was great. No contractor can control the weather and I think leading up to the pour days I was looking at the weather app on my phone hourly. He had to push a planned pour date (Friday) due to incoming storms but was able to complete on Monday. They are not the biggest and they don’t have a fleet of branded vehicles, but they all worked hard and delivered a quality driveway for me and my family that we will use for decades to come."

"Lovell Turner is a very nice guy. He came out to my house and I explained I wanted a driveway extension to store my camper. I knew the spot the camper had to be was 10’ from the house at 25’ deep. But I did not know the dimensions the triangle part to connect the pad to my driveway needed to be, so I was relying on his expertise for this part. He quoted me a good amount, but I still needed it a little more lower, which he gave me. Awesome price for what I wanted done. We booked a date for the next week and everything was good to go. He came out that following week a day early to mark where the people he hired to dig... I was not home and he did multiple markings that did not line up with what we spoke about but when the digging people and he came back the next day to start the project, the dimensions were correct but the digging people said we would need a bigger triangle to connect the pad to my driveway... which means Lovell added more to the price... $500 more. Which was $500 more than my budget. But since they already started, it’s not like I could have said no... After the digging, the next day the concrete truck came. Lovell said he wouldn’t have the truck drive on my driveway or yard because the truck was too heavy for the ground and would cause damage.... what do you know, the truck drove on my driveway and grass. I’m giving a good-ish review because I genuinely liked Lovell and the completed project looks good. But the experience, increase in price and mess they made is ridiculous. They destroyed my yard and did not clean up the chunks of concrete they left from the truck in my yard. There is dirt, gravel, and McDonald’s trash everywhere and they did not clean up. I emailed Lovell to see if he would be back to clean up and he replied “I will be back next week”. It has been 3 weeks since the project and he has not been back. To finish it off... they used my shovel I had leaning against my garage and now it is caked with concrete... Would I recommend them? Yes and no... if you want a cheap job that looks good but you have to clean up and redo your grass and yard.. they are perfect. Lovell turner was around $2,000 less than any other estimate I received, so I guess you get what you pay for. The actual concrete pad is in good condition and works well for what I need. Just a huge mess I will have to hire someone else to fix my yard."

"I had a large area of failing concrete porch roof over a foundation/coal room in an older home. Scott was very helpful in alleviating my anxiety about the significance of the issue and his ability to be able to fix it for a fair price. Contractor did very thorough work and had a lot of experience. It was a messy job but turned out great. It's difficult to find concrete help that is beyond simple driveway or sidewalk work. Thanks much Scott!!!! Will definitely use this company again."

FAQs for concrete finishing, overlays & coloring application projects in Loveland, OH

With proper care, a stained concrete floor easily lasts 20 years or more. Reapply sealer every two to four years to protect against moisture, scratches, and daily wear. Routine sweeping, occasional damp mopping, and prompt repairs keep the surface looking sharp and protect the slab underneath, preserving both function and resale value.

Stained concrete can crack if the slab is exposed to extreme moisture changes, heavy impacts, or settling. Small hairline cracks are mainly cosmetic, but deeper fractures can affect the finish. Inspect the floor regularly, address moisture issues quickly, and hire a pro for timely repairs. Staying on top of maintenance prevents minor flaws from developing into larger, more costly problems.

The longevity of a concrete stain depends on the product you choose. Acid-based options chemically bond with the slab and are essentially permanent. Water-based stains sit on the surface and can be lightened, darkened, or covered with a new color at a later time. Select the stain type that aligns with your long-term design plans and your willingness to reapply the stain in the future.

You can update the color by cleaning the slab, lightly etching it, and applying a new layer of stain. Re-staining bonds to the concrete and resists peeling far better than paint. For a dramatic shift—such as moving from a dark acid stain to a lighter tone—you may need to grind the surface first. A flooring pro can advise on the best approach for your specific floor.

Stained concrete combines longevity with a modern, custom look. The finish resists heavy foot traffic, moisture, and everyday wear, so upkeep is minimal—routine sweeping and an occasional damp mop are usually enough. Because the color is inside the concrete, it won’t peel or flake like paint. Homebuyers also appreciate its sleek aesthetic and low maintenance, which can add a slight boost to your property's resale value.
