"Right from the start everything went like "clockwork". Communications and scheduling were timely and accurate. Marsha kept us informed every step of the way. The estimate for the job was fair and reasonable and we signed on and scheduled the job. Showing up on time, communicating necessary information such as delivery of supplies and job scheduling are important. They followed through perfectly. The job was done in one day, the crew was professional, experienced and very clean. We are delighted with our new patio and we do not hesitate to recommend Exotic Pavers to anyone. So, do yourself a big favor, call them for an estimate...you'll be very glad you did!!"

"Wonderful, honest, professional!!! Let me start by saying Hank is my guardian angel. Hank, his son, David and crew were a pleasure to work with. Timely, worked hard to install drains on one wall in my basement where water came in during heavy rains. I was quoted $2,200.00. Hank and his crew did an extra 2 feet of drains. When they were finished I asked Hank what amount should I make the check out for and he said, “as I quoted $2,200.00”, I was grateful and very appreciative as I am in a fixed income. I want to add before I found Hank I was quoted $19,300.00 by a major basement waterproofing firm. They were going to put drains on 4 walls of my basement - 3 walls never had issues with water. So when I say, “Hank is my guardian angel”, you understand why! "

"Amos came to give us an estimation. He is very nice, helpful, and professional. After checking our driveway's condition, he suggested That a driveway lifting maybe more practical. Since Nobel Concrete doesn't do driveway lifting, He recommended us to contact other providers."

"We can't thank Matt Clark enough for the attention to detail and fine craftsmanship. He never cut corners and always worked as if he were remodeling his own home. The finish work is so fantastic I can't stop looking at it. Communication is excellent and very responsive via email or phone. The crew is extremely good natured, cheerful and respectful of the home they're working on (which is not my previous experience with construction crews). The work was completed as promised, even though they had to work late to accomplish it. My flooring was a little tougher to install than most, which meant longer hours. But they never complained. Matt is willing to answer questions and share information without reservation. Set up and clean up were easy. I really loved that we never had to ask to have things done to our specifications because the work always exceeded our expectations. <br /> There is no question that we will ask Clark's Construction back for all of our future remodeling projects! <br />"

"I emailed a detailed description of the work I needed to be completed well in advance, so they knew what the work would entail. The worker took an hour to go pick up the lumber needed to repair the bay window. He then attempted to cut the piece of tile for the bathroom. He did not have the correct saw with him and broke several tiles trying to use the wrong saw. He then decided to take the tile to his home and cut it on the correct saw. He returned 40 minutes later. Once he returned, the total time to place the tile and cover the opening under the bay window was less than 45 minutes. I was charged for the entire time he spent from start to finish even though it took a lot of extra time due to not having the correct tools to do the job. After the worker left, I discovered that he had damaged my bathroom wall where he removed the baseboard to get the tile out. It was not visible when I looked at the tile before the worker left because I would have had to walk on the tile to see the side of the wall. The worker did not repair the damage, nor inform me that it occurred (the wall was gouged and scraped up). I have contacted the business and hope they will repair the damage, at the least. If they repair the damage and adjust the bill for the wasted time, I will re-review them with a more positive description. I do have a recommendation to the company that if they came ahead of time to see what needed to be done and came to do the job with the correct tools and supplies, the whole process would be much more efficient. <br /> <br />I am updating this review. The business returned promptly and repaired the damaged wall. The owner agreed that the amount charged for the work was excessive and refunded a substantial amount within a few days. I was satisfied with the repair and the refund. The owner did everything he could to make sure my experience was a positive one."

"The workers showed up right on time and worked steadily on the project which took about 6-7 hours. I haven't had the system put to the test, since I only get leaks every 1-2 years when we have extreme rains. The system looks good, however, and I am very happy overall."

FAQs for concrete patios, walks & steps installation projects in Lowell, MI

Most sidewalks rely on a ready‑mix blend of Portland cement, sand, gravel, and water that trucks deliver to your site and pour in one continuous lift. For added strength, many contractors fold in fiber mesh or steel reinforcement. This mix cures into a rock‑solid slab that stands up to foot traffic, freeze‑thaw cycles, and daily wear for decades. Expect a pro to recommend a 4‑inch‑thick pour for standard walkways.

With the right mix, proper drainage, and routine upkeep, a concrete sidewalk can last 25 to 50 years. Freeze‑thaw cycles, road salt, and heavy loads all shorten that timeline, but sealing every few years and patching small cracks early keeps damage in check. Think of sealing as inexpensive insurance for decades of safe, stable footing. In milder climates, some slabs push well past the 30‑year mark without major repairs.

Concrete sidewalks crack as a result of significant temperature fluctuations and heavy load pressures. The freeze-thaw cycles and sustained weight from vehicles or intense foot traffic force the concrete to develop cracks over time. Applying a premium sealant every two to three years and substituting salt with sand for de-icing minimizes crack formation. Regular maintenance and timely repairs safeguard the sidewalk’s structural integrity and extend its service life.
