"I have used Sutton for many projects throughout the last several years and I am always very pleased by the quality of the job they deliver and their meticulous attention to detail. They are fantastic to work with from the bidding stage all the way through the completion of any project, large or small. It is pretty easy to tell right from the start that customer satisfaction is their #1 priority, which I assume is extremely important to most people when choosing a contractor for any job. I highly highly recommend them for any flooring needs from carpets, to hardwood, to vinyl, to tile. I have used them for small residential carpet jobs, moderate sized hardwood flooring jobs, as well as a 10,000sq+ ft vinyl flooring installation at my office that required a special application and they knocked it out of the park each and every time. Look no further if you are in search of of a professional, knowledgeable, and high quality contractor for your flooring needs."

"Mark the salesman was very helpful. The installers 3 people father/ son and another person were punctual and efficient. But they did not clean up after them self's. I spent a hour cleaning the the threads of carpet they left behind. The only other issue I have with Ron's is that I wish they had weekend hours.

"Our purple carpet had about 100 urine stains from previous dogs and our own. The specialist, Robert, matched to color and treated every spot. If we didn't know where they were, we'd never know they spots had been there. Perfect job!"

"We were only in town for a couple of days and we needed the carpeting replaced ASAP. We originally wanted laminate wood floor, but Ralphs does not stock any. We showed the sales person a sample of the carpet color and style that we wanted but again, he had nothing in stock to match it. He did show us his remnant area where we found a single piece that was close to the size and style we wanted. he was able to install two days after we Purchased which fit our schedule perfectly. All in all, they gave us excellent and professional service. My only concern was that the price was about 20% too high. Realistically, this installation had no furniture moving, used a one piece remnant with no seams to glue, and had no special cut outs for closets. He gave us fast service and did a good job...for this I gave him an "A". I would use him again, but only if his price was competitive."

"Jim was prompt, easy to work with, and very hard working. Though his resume does not show it, he is a skilled carpenter. He found creative solutions to the many challenges, while being considerate of our budget. His finish and detail work is excellent. Examples, installing along brick edge of fireplace, installing new floor registers, creating invisible transitions, disguising alterations to a kitchen cabinet. We greatly appreciated his sensitivity to our living conditions (we have dogs who are part of the family) during this disruptive project. We will be hiring Jim to do additional work as soon as our budget allows. Be aware, Jim can sometimes be difficult to contact prior to beginning work."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Lowpoint, IL

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
