"Glenn at Trimline did an absolutely amazing job on our 40-year old cedar siding that had all kinds of flaws. He was prompt, professional, courteous and finished the work faster than expected. After getting quotes from 4 other companies, it was obvious he actually wanted to do a good job rather than just win the bid. Highly recommended!"

"Evergreen Painting I had to manage my paint project from Arizona so from the start it presented many challenges. Being out of state made it difficult to get contractors on the phone and get them into my home for an accurate estimate. Fortunately, I found Andrew at Evergreen Painting. He was flexible, sharp on communication and very thorough on what my paint project needed. While in Arizona he maintained constant communication and provided me with updates on how my place was going. Without having to be in WA state to see it I knew the project was on schedule and looking great. In my experience, that level of customer service is hard to come by with other companies. Prior to contacting Andrew I spent weeks talking with different GCs and painters to get timelines and estimates but unfortunately the vast majority of them were unclear about their timelines, poor on communication, or unavailable when I needed them. Andrew was clear with his timelines, available to complete the project and more importantly he was on target with his initial estimates. It can be frustrating working with trades and having different costs come up during the project only to have the final invoice be higher than the initial estimate. Andrew and Evergreen Painting did it ON budget and completed days ahead of the initial deadline. Give a quick rundown on what work I needed done, my home (built 2005) had original beige walls and wood trim everywhere. It definitely needed an refreshed look. He and his team did a phenomenal job repainting my walls, ceiling, trim, doors, door frame, window frames, and cabinets in all rooms. Essentially every inch of the home was painted. We opted for agreeable grey walls and alabaster white for ceiling and trims. The place turned out amazing. The quality of paint he selected and recommendations for my home were top notch. You can spend hours going through Google business, HomeAdvisor, Yelp etc to try and find the perfect painter like I did or you can call Andrew at Evergreen Painting. I wouldnâ t hesitate to contact Andrew again for any future projects."

"Elias Contruction provided a detailed estimate after inspecting the roof and making some qualified recommendations. The project required a few change orders that were not clarified in writing. I would recommend hiring Elias if you get changes in writing. They cleaned up pretty well although they missed a few things due to finishing in the dark. Overall satisfied with the job and cost was 60% of other bids due to sheathing adjustment."

"Estimate for two rooms was low, we were billed labor costs for two rooms when they did only one. Asked for updated estimate, never done. No completion date given when their agreement stated we would be put on a schedule with a completion date after paying 50% labor costs up front. Start date pushed out over a week with no completion date. Crack in our composite counter top due to them standing and walking on it, they never even acknowledged it. Final bill was a shock to us."

FAQs for small projects painting or staining projects in Lynden, WA

You'll need about two gallons of paint to fully cover your kitchen cabinets with two coats. Since each gallon covers around 350 square feet, it's a good idea to measure your cabinets or use a paint calculator to determine exactly how much you'll need. Starting with one or two coats of primer and then applying two to three layers of paint will give you a flawless, durable finish. Using high-quality paint can reduce the number of coats needed and provide a long-lasting finish.

The best type of paint for your kitchen cabinets is latex paint because it applies evenly and creates a durable finish. If you're painting wood surfaces and need extra adhesion, acrylic paint is a great alternative. We don't recommend oil-based paint for residential use due to its VOC emissions. For finishes, go with eggshell, semi-gloss, gloss, or satin, as matte finishes aren't as durable or as easy to clean.

The best method for painting kitchen cabinets is spray painting because it gives you a smooth, even finish without brush strokes. While brushes and rollers can work, they often leave marks and require more effort. If you're aiming for a professional look, spray painting is your best bet to enhance the beauty and durability of your cabinets.
