"Angelo, of Remedy Plumbing, was most professional, knowledgeable, kind and considerate. He was patient and answered and explained all of my questions. Why you would want something a certain over another. He went the extra mile. The Service Manager Mike was also very kind, considerate and very helpful with my questions and concerns. I finally have a sense of peace that my sewage issues have been addressed and my toilet will work properly now after 6 other plumbing companies could not resolve. They were head and shoulders above my previous experiences on this very same issue for the past year and nine months! I am truly grateful to have found them. They certainly deserve the best rating available. I will be happy to refer them and will be using them going forward for all my plumbing needs."

"After two previous failed plumbing attempts with two different plumbing companies; Mr. Dawson was able to identify and locate where my leak was coming from. Additionally, he was able to quickly make the repair. It Was very refreshing to find a plumber that was honest and efficient. I will be using Dawson Plumbing for all of my future plumbing needs."

"My heat stopped working on Saturday, 11/ 15 and I suspected the issue was due to a faulty thermostat. I called Henson on Monday and scheduled an appointment for Tuesday between 8 am and noon on 11/18/14. I mentioned to the scheduler that I had seen a $29.00 Angie's list service special. She advised me that i needed to purchase the deal online. I told her I would go online and book the appointment but I thought she said she would notate the appointment at the $29.00 rate and not to bother purchasing it online. Jeremy called to advise that he was enroute approximately 25 minutes prior to his arrival. He confirmed that it was indeed the thermostat after doing a check of both the thermostat and the unit. Jeremy was very nice and was patient about explaining how the system works and and explained the basic programming of the thermostat. I was so pleased with his service that I ended up purchasing a 1 year service plan. The only issue was the service charge which was $79.00 and not $29.00. I didn't bother mentioning that to Jeremy because he was not privy to the conversation with the scheduler and clearly he wasn't advised in advance of the $29.00 rate. I should have booked it myself on Angies list to ensure the discount.

"Representative showed up exactly on time; offered estimate and did not charge a service fee when I did not initially accept his offer.  After shopping, I found that his price was "average," but the service and quality of the product were worth using this company over less reputable plumbers to save a few bucks.

The representative returned quickly on a Saturday to perform the work and made a special effort to clean up the work area (better than he found it).  He also offered good advice on all questions, whether they were related to the work he performed or not.  He even found a way to charge a little less (using a discount associated with an annual service plan) than originally quoted.

My only complaint is that he emptied the old water heater in my lawn, which killed a section of grass - An innocent mistake."

FAQs for drain clog or blockage clearing projects in Madison, GA

Snaking a simple clog near a tub, toilet, or sink often takes about five minutes. Deeper blockages along the main line can stretch the job to a few hours because the pro must feed extra cable and may need a camera to confirm the pipe is clear. Either way, specialized tools help pros work quickly and keep your drains running for the long haul.

Aggressive snaking can scratch pipes, push debris deeper, or even crack older lines. That risk is low with an experienced plumber who matches the cable size to the pipe and eases the snake through bends instead of forcing it. If you’re unsure of your technique—or your pipes are already fragile—calling a licensed pro is the safest, and often cheapest, move.

Start with simple barriers: mesh screens on every tub, shower, and sink keep hair, food bits, and jewelry out of the pipes. Skip harsh chemicals; a monthly flush with hot (not boiling) water clears light buildup without damaging plastic lines. Finally, practice smart disposal—no grease, wipes, or kitty litter down the drain—and schedule routine cleanings if you have older plumbing.

Roto‑Rooter typically charges a flat $160 to $450 for standard snaking, which may include a quick sewer inspection and basic clean‑out. Exact pricing depends on the clog’s location and complexity. Repairs or part replacements fall outside that flat fee, so ask for a line‑item estimate if your tech spots broken pipe sections or recommends additional work.

Most liquid cleaners rely on caustic chemicals that eat through hair and grime—but they also erode metal and even some plastics over time. Repeated use strips protective pipe coatings and can leave you with leaks or premature failures. If hot water or a plunger doesn’t help, call a plumber for mechanical removal instead of pouring more chemicals down the line.
