"He did gutter downspouts underground for better drainage. Brought in dirt and regarded the yard. Built up a window well and a/c pad. He also reseeded the yard. He did amazing work and was very good about staying in contact with us before, during and after the work. "

"Craig and his crew did a good job.  They successfully redirected the water away from my house, which is what I wanted done.  They remediated my basement leakage issues for a fraction of the cost I thought it might be, so I am happy.  They also came in within their quote, which was good. <br />"

"When I talked to Mike on the phone the morning after I had left a message the day before to find someone to do the driveway snow removal, he indicated I would be his second job if he done the work. I said OK. <br /> The price would be discussed when he arrived and surveyed the job. After seeing what needed to be done, he said his price would be $120.00 and hour and he should be able to do both drives in approximately 2 hours. (If he had an hourly rate, why wasn't it presented to me on the phone call.) <br /> I said OK and the work began. He had arrived at 11:50 am and his co-worker started unloading an begin working while we discussed his pricing. <br /> By 2:00 PM  they were finished and loaded back up and he was writing out his ticket. <br /> He presented his ticket to me for $320.00 or $160.00 for each driveway and I asked if this was for 2 hours work,  <br /> His response was "Yes, as busy as I was yesterday, the price would have been $200.00 and hour."  <br /> With the work being done, I paid his bill, and he went on his way. I had no proof of what he had quoted me and felt as if I had to pay his bill. <br /> Yes, I should have had him write down his quote as we discussed, so I've learned my lesson. <br /> With him, it "BUYER BEWARE" for sure.....Always have a written quote..... <br />"

FAQs for brick and stone patios, walks, and steps installation projects in Maize, KS

When cleaning your flagstone patio, begin by gently hosing off loose dirt and debris. Use a mild solution of white vinegar and water or diluted dish soap to scrub the surface with a soft-bristled brush. Avoid using abrasive tools, such as wire brushes, as they can damage the stone’s seal and finish. This careful approach effectively removes mold and grime while preserving the natural beauty of your patio.

Flagstone naturally offers a neutral palette that includes shades of grey, black, red, yellow, brown, and tan, and its inherent color cannot be altered. Choosing varieties like bluestone provides a subtle bluish tint that complements many exterior designs. These natural hues enhance curb appeal and create a refined, timeless look in your outdoor space, ensuring a sophisticated finish with minimal upkeep.

Flagstone for a patio must have a minimum thickness of 1.5 inches to reliably support furniture and foot traffic. Using stone that is two to three inches thick is recommended to ensure lasting durability. The increased thickness prevents cracking under load and enhances long-term performance. Investing in thicker flagstone provides superior stability and resistance to weather conditions, ensuring your outdoor space remains both safe and attractive.

You can paint a flagstone patio by using a high-quality, outdoor elastomeric latex paint designed for heavy foot traffic. Painting not only refreshes the patio’s appearance but also creates a waterproof barrier that protects the stone from damage. Regular reapplication every one to two years maintains its durability and visual appeal, ensuring your patio remains both stylish and well-protected.
