Made recommendations.  2nd quote was a little delayed but extremely responsive when I followed up.  Didn't end up using them for the additional repair as it needed to be coordinated with other contracted work so we used the provider the other contractor recommended.  Other chimney contractor made a point of saying that the cleaning done by Affordable Chimney was excellent.  Prices were similar too, in fact overall Affordable was cheaper though we chose a different liner so final cost was less.  I'm sure Affordable would have been a better price with different liner. <br />"

"Needed a new roof for a large 2 family unit. I have tenants on the 2nd floor and the roof was leaking into the apartment. I contacted Harco and the next day they came out and tarped the roof to stop any furthur leaking during rain events. That was a huge piece of mind. John diagnosed the problem with the chimney flue (a former contractor who re-pointed the bricks dropped concrete into the flue, essentially cutting off all air) and made all the repairs. "Overall, the Fireplace Guys (Derek) were incredible to work with. In all the various house projects I have done over the years, I have never had anyone respond as quickly as him. From the very beginning, Derek was very informative, professional, and polite. He looked at the fireplace and chimney and basement carefully at the time of the estimate. He helped with the decision making. The install took longer than expected, but still done in one day. PROS: Derek carried 3 lines of fireplace companies to choose from. Very quick to respond. He came out quickly when I was concerned about an issue that was resolved after the installation. Experienced. Kept the area around the installation clean. Came within the time frame he scheduled. CONS: Not Derek's fault, but I was surprised that the unit was smaller than I imagined (the glass portion). In order to install a fireplace insert, a plumber and possibly an electrician are required. He works as a team with a plumbing co. and an electrician if the customer does not have a preference. The plumbers were great and knew exactly what to do. The electrician had issues keeping with the schedule (no showed, very late, or took longer than expected). The fireplace fan is louder than expected. Overall, we are very happy with the insert, and have been using it everyday for the last few months. Obviously, winter is very busy for them and other fireplace co. Best to get it done at other seasons."

"Job went well.  A&A showed up on time on the day of the install and worked non-stop until the following afternoon.  End result looks great and so far so good on the Gutter Shutter performance. <br /> A&A is pricey (especially for windows, which I did not go through with), but I will say they have great products and I'm a believer in you get what you pay for.  Having said that, they were cheaper than another quote for the same gutter product, so make sure you at least give them a shot if you're looking for a higher end gutter protection product. <br />"

Installed 3 flu extensions & a locktop damper & a smokeguard & swept both fireplace smoke chambers & shelves. 2nd Chimney-oil replaced liner to boiler, new cement crown and cap. Applied water repellant to both chimneys. Work crew showed up on time, was very professional and kept me informed of their progress. Layed down drop cloths fr doorway to chimney. Cleaned up & removed all debris. Answered all my questions & gave us a 5% discount for both jobs and used 2 coupons fr website. Make sure to ask about warranty of their work & parts and to state on invoices, etc."

"Bob was terrific! He was prompt about coming to do the chimney inspection and cleaning. He inspected and vacuumed 10 gallons of soot & debris! He suggested a stainless steel liner because my house is close to 100 years old. I had had two other chimney people here in the past and they would not do the cleaning, so I was thrilled that Bob at American Chimney completed the inspection and cleaning so thoroughly.
