"Contacted the representative I worked with before. We set up an appt to select the carpet, padding, and determine how much needed to be ordered. She kept me informed on the progression of the order and was responsive to all my needs. She was very accomodating with the installation schedule. The installers arrived right on time and worked from start to finish with only a slight break for lunch. They were very helpful and patient with re-placement of my furniture and cleaned up once the job was completed."

"I am refurbishing a home, that was damaged during Hurricane Katrina. I am doing one room at a time, some of them are quite small, and I am on a budget. Mike Henry, and the staff at Carpet Corner, are always friendly and helpful. <br /> Carpet Corner stocks a large amount of "remnants" in the store that are the perfect size for my projects. This week I started on the kitchen, they had a piece of vinyl in the store that would have worked, but I wanted something that was more gray than brown. Mike said that he might have something at the warehouse and he would bring in a sample the following day. When I stopped in to look at the sample, I liked it. He noticed that my truck is a small Toyota, so he offered to deliver it for no extra charge; since my house was between his warehouse and store. The following morning he showed up with the flooring, as promised. <br /> I got a great deal, great service, and the perfect color! <br /> From experience, I can tell you that no project is too small (I have a 4' x 6' laundry room). Because of their wonderful service I would certainly trust them with a large project. <br />"

"I had shopped for carpet at several other stores over a period of several months. I wanted a short plush carped at about $9 per yard. I was pleased with their knowledge and the help they gave me in picking a carpet. They were able to special order a better quality carpet for $11.50 a yard plus $60 for shipping. I'm happy with the carpet."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Mandeville, LA

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
