I was moved to action by a serious leak, in our second-floor bonus room, caused by the heavy rain and high winds we have had over the winter. I found several positive reviews online for Above it All Roofing and gave them a call. I received reply from David, their Customer Service Manager, the same day. He set an appointment to visit my house to inspect the roof and provide a quote. He inspected the Fascia boards, Soffit and Eaves looking for weather damage and wood rot. The hidden wood rot was considerable even though I paint my house when needed. I was appreciative he found it. Dave gave me a fair quote and because of his explanation of the issues and his honesty, I hired Above it All Roofing that same day. The repairs commenced within a week. The skilled four-man crew who did the job were very diligent workers and the only break they took was for lunch. They always were on time every day. I was impressed by their dedication and knowledge. Above it All Roofing deserves my highest recommendation for the very complete, quality job. I was impressed by: • Inspection of all roof wood underlayment and the replacement of any questionable panels. • Their use of two layers of felt and tar underlayment waterproof sheeting designed to insure a dry roof. • Repair of all wood rot on the roof, rafter tails, and eaves. • Saved me money by reusing the existing concrete roofing tiles and replaced all the cracked ones. Pressure washed the entire roof when finished to make the roof look like brand new. • A warranty was included for the roofing work which gave me peace of mind. "Here's my story (bear with me if you want a good roofer): Soon after the heavy rains hit Southern CA this past winter, I realized -- along with thousand of other homeowners -- that I needed a new roof. So I contacted six potential roofers using a variety of sources, including Angie's List. Here's how they went: 1. Left vm; no response. 2. Got a vm that said -- I'm not kidding here -- "We're very busy right now and may not call you back for a while." They never called me back. 3. Contacted company that said someone would come out to look at my house and give me an estimated. When I didn't hear from them, I called and emailed several times, but never got a reply. 4. Got a very low estimate from this person, who never asked me what kind of roofing material I wanted or would tell me how long it would take. Turns out he is not licensed or insured. I passed. 5. This person came out and looked at the house and within days give me an estimate that was so high it would have required me to sell my house just to pay for it. (OK, slight exaggeration -- but not much.) And oh, yes, because they were so busy, they couldn't start my job for months. I passed. 6. Trusting a roofer with an Angie's List Certification AND a Super Service Award, I contacted George Parks Roofing and Painting in Santa Monica, CA, a family-owned business. George came out the next day to look at the house, and within days had sent me a fair and reasonable estimate. When I asked him how long it would be before he could start, he told me his crew could begin the following Monday. Really? Yes, he promised. That following Monday, his crew was there and started replacing my roof. After a few days, when it was obvious his folks were doing a good job, I took George up on his offer to paint my house (which it needed, but I was going to save that for another day) at a discount. That Saturday, the new roof was complete and looked beautiful. Then the painters began. One week later, they, too, where done. And they, too, did a great job -- even adding more layers of paint than originally planned because the first coats didn't quite do the job. At all times, George's crew were polite and responded quickly to any concerns I had -- debris in yard, spots missed with paint, etc. And George was in touch with me on a daily basis, stopping by the house at least once a day to make sure everything was going as planned. Bottom line: The job was done well and on time and at a reasonable price. I told me wife as we were nearing the end that something must be wrong -- a contractor fulfilling every promise he made and leaving my house beautiful. But there was nothing wrong. George Parks did what he said he would do. What a concept! I can't promise you'll have the same experience I did, but I could not be more pleased. Job well done."

"I have a flat roof. Four years ago, in 2014, Jordan put on a new roof. I also have a mansered portion of the roof which is basically decorative and covered with shingles. They did not replace this part as it looked to still be in good condition. Last week when we had a big rain, the roof leaked into the master bedroom. I was mortified. They came out promptly and determined that part of the shingled portion of the roof which I could not see was wearing out and allowing water in. Tim took pictures so I could understand what he was telling me. He managed to glue it together such that when it happen to rain the next day, there was no more leaking. He measured the area so that the office could estimate the cost of replacing that area. He said the rest of the shingled roof could easily last 5-10 years more. Since this was not part of the roof his company had replaced and therefore guaranteed, technically he wasn’t obligated to do anything for free. But he made this repair, no charge. This is one of those rare reliable reputable companies that rarely exist anymore. It is family based with the next generation taking on more and more so it is likely to be around for many years. I will always call this company first. One other note: Initially, I was reluctant to hire them to replace my roof because they are based some distance from me and I thought if there were a problem it might be hard to get them out. In 2017, I had a bad leak in the portion of the roof over the garage. They were on it and it turned out it was due to a clogged downspout which is the homeowners responsibility. They cleared the drain nonetheless, no charge."
