I was informed that I was still expected to pay the full quoted amount, as the estimate was now considered a flat rate. I was never informed that the estimate was a flat rate at the time I signed it. I offered to pay a fair amount for the actual time worked (2 hours of labor) plus the cost of the parts. Kody stated that his boss instructed him to leave the premises, and he subsequently did so. For your information, a quick internet search indicates that the average hourly labor fee for a plumber in this area typically ranges from $75 to $150 per hour. Additionally, in the state of Texas, Texas Penal Code 32.53 classifies the exploitation of a child, elderly individual, or disabled individual for monetary or personal gain as a third-degree felony. I am a service-connected disabled veteran and currently serve as the primary caregiver for my 94 year old mother, who resides with me in my home."

"Last October, my sister, an elderly veteran living alone, contracted Genie Bath Systems to remodel her master and guest baths. She was diagnosed cancer and passed before the remodel was complete. Which, to be fair as we were not able to work with Genie while attending to my sister. The contract was expensive. Very expensive. The cost of the remodel is close to 1/4th the value of her home. I noticed there were issues with the remodel that showed a surprising lack of attention to detail. Genie sent people to address the issues twice. Yet issues remain. My calls to my contact at Genie are now being ignored. Also, the only document I have for the remodel is the contract my sister signed. It is not detailed. I have and continue to ask for a breakdown of the cost. An estimate or work order. This request is also being ignored. I am disappointed and have to wonder why Genie will not provide this information. I have several other questions for Genie that I will not go into here. But based on my experience, I cannot recommend Genie. In fact I would warn anyone considering Genie to be very careful about the cost of the contract."
