"Our church building is 60+ years old and has had numerous plumbing problems over the years. We have used many local Plumbing and Heating companies through the years. None of the others could even compete with Grogg's Plumbing Co. The two servicemen that came for the job were prompt, knowledgeable, professional, through and cleaned up any mess at the end of the job. If we have the need, we will definitely be calling on you for any repairs. I wish that you had local resources available, (Clarksburg), but am more than pleased with the service work, and service men that did the work. Please pass on our gratitude to the two service men for their over the top professionalism and craftmanship. This was a great commercial job."

"Best experience I've ever had with any service provider. First off, let me say I'm not that handy. I recently had to call an electrician because I cliff Hucstabled a light at my old house. My wife and I purchased a foreclosure. We knew it needed work. In the master bedroom , closet, and bath, we had a mold problem. Before, getting the mold cleaned I wanted to find the source. Also, I could not get the hot water tank to light. My time frame was tight, so I called several plumbers that were highly rated getting their voicemail. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Then I called Hughes. Steve answered, said he was finishing a job and would be there in 20 minutes. AND HE WAS. He found the source of the mold which was a leak on the line to the toilet that had gone unresolved. Then he took a look at the hot water tank. I'm not sure what it is called but the combustion portion was all corroded. He gave me options of replacing the part or the entire tank. I opted for replacing the part and he made a few phone calls and said he could have the part in two days and he would come back to replace it. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />I also wanted him to reroute some of the waterlines in the bathroom (the line to the toilet came out of the side of the vanity and I wanted it to come out of the wall) in addition to fixing the leak on the toilet. He said he could do that on the same day. On the way out of the house we walked through the kitchen and he saw a sign placed by the seller saying, and quot;Do not turn on the faucet: Leaks.and quot; He asked if we wanted that fixed too. I told him we were trying to save money and I was going to try to replace the sink and pipes myself in the coming weeks. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />He quoted me $450 for the hot water tank and $200 for the other work. Then Steve said while he was there he would try to fix the sink for free. He said, and quot; You have a new house. You're gonna want to paint and clean, having a working faucet in the kitchen will make things a lot easier. Later if you want to replace the sink you can, but at least you can use it in the meantime.and quot; I was blown away. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />I could not be there when they came back to fix things, but my wife was. They said they would be there around 3:30. I went to the house right after work (about 5:00) and their truck was nowhere in sight. I was a little disappointed thinking they must of had to go get different parts or had to reschedule. My wife greeted me and I asked what the story was. She said they had already come and gone. We had hot water, a working toilet with a new line coming from the wall, and a working faucet. My wife said they were very polite and she felt completely comfortable. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Then I asked about the big question: Did he stay at $650? ( We had been charged well above estimates on some other work we had done by other providers recently.) NOPE! He did it all for $450. I had misunderstood what he had quoted me. I couldn't have been happier. The thing is I had texted him the night before saying I couldn't be there but my wife would and she would have $650, so he knew what we were expecting to pay and still only charged us $450. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Steve was awesome and I recommend him to everyone. <br /> <br /> <br />"

"The most recent inspection was actually the second home I had inspected by Troy. The first one I was interested in had major structural and foundation issues. I went with Troy on the first inspection and it was an eye opening experience. He could look at joists or a door frame, point out where it was not square, explain where the stress was coming from and what caused it. (In this case, the front corner of the house was sinking into the hillside.) He saved me from buying a lovely house that had a large number of serious and expensive problems. The issues were documented in a pdf report in writing and with photos. <br /> The second house also received a thorough going over and the few major issues were identified. It takes 48 hours to receive the formal report but I asked for a brief list of the major issues so that we could move forward with the seller. Troy sent a quick response to this request which included that the central air was not working. The seller quickly had a service person recharge the central air unit and we were able to move forward toward closing. <br /> The report is easy to read with major concerns listed first, followed by needed repairs and improvement suggestions for each category. <br /> I found Troy to be a pleasure to work with, he is very easy-going and professional and I trust him implicitly. <br />"

"Dave and his crew were amazing. They fit us in between other jobs to come in earlier than they thought. They came in right at their quote despite running into issues that happen in a house built in 1860. This delay probably cost them close to a day, but they still stuck to their quote. The work looks amazing. From the street no one would even know we changed from the old wooden windows to the new vinyl. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a contractor."

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Marietta, OH

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
