"Mike actually installed carpet for me in July 2014. I'm on Angie's list now to get his number to do my upstairs! He worked with his son on the installation. Very professional and save me a ton of $ by cutting the carpet in such a way that I didn't have to buy a ton of waste (Empire carpet would not let me do that an insisted that I buy a ton of waste). I can't see any seams in the carpet and after 1 1/2years is still great."

"Great! From Jym the estimator, Anne at the office and Matt the carpet cleaner everything went smoothly and my carpets are clean like new again. Matt was able to remove some pet stains I didn't think possible."

"Fantastic job! I am hooked. I have cleaned my carpets myself but this cleaning was so much better. I removed the small items like end tables, but the gentleman from Dry Step moved the heavier items: couch, chairs, desk. The gentleman who did the work was so courteous, patient, and very helpful. I had so many questions, and he took the time to answer each one. I also had a room that needs the carpet replaced because of the age and stains. He took the time to run the cleaning machine over the worst stain and much to my surprise, it actually removed it. I will definitely hire this company again."

"Monte was patient with us as we delayed placing the order for several months from the original quote. Not sure if we got the carpeting we needed but it was close. Monte's business style is very informal: no itemized quote, hand-written, runs the business from his cell phone usually on the job. We were very pleased with his installers. They went well out of their way to provide a timely and quality installation: job was scheduled to last 2 days but the installers extended their workday to finish in 1 day. Monte's quote didn't include a small bathroom which we had modified since his quote. Monte and the installers adjusted the job and schedule on the fly and re-carpeted that room. For equivalent work, Monte is very reasonable. In our other home in another region, the quotes for less work and less carpeting is considerably higher, carpet quality and price notwithstanding. <br />"

"Jim did an excellent job. The carpet is a berber carpet that had never been installed correctly and had numerous wrinkles in it. I thought it needed to be replaced but he came out and gave us an estimate, we decided for the price it was worth trying. He stretched it and cut it to fit properly around the doors. We're very happy with the result. <br />"

"I've been using Martin's cleaning for a number of years, and they always come through.,  The technicians, who I requested in advance, Andy and James, both treated my home and me with respect.  They told me exactly what needed to be done, and advised on the pros and cons of some additional services,  I like the way they did not try and force me to do additional things (e,.g,. scotchgard), something which I have found quite annoying with other cleaning companies.  I trusted their advice on everything, <br /> They did a thorough, high quality job.  And I felt as if they took pride in their work and in serving their customers. <br /> Some might say that Martins charges more than the nationally franchised outfits, and they may.  But you get what you pay for; and if you want your carpeting and furniture cleaned excellently, then trust Martins to do it--trust me!  They'll do whatever it takes to make it right,. <br />"

"We’re very happy with the new carpeting we bought from the Levi’s 4 Floors store in Blacklick. Jeff did a great job steering us to a stain-resistent carpet with a cushioned pad. He was great to work with. And the installers were very professional."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Marion, OH

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
