"I was very impressed with David's responsiveness and every member of his crew was a pleasure. They completely removed the kitchen floor (and several layers of subfloor) in my 100+ year-old home, made repairs to floor joists and installed new flooring that looks beautiful. It was an evolving project and I appreciated the team's flexibility and speed with which they completed the project."

"I was very pleased with the carpentry work Kurt did in the wood siding of my house. He replaced a whole section of cedar siding and replace various rotting siding. He installed a frieze board and fixed some rotten siding on a dormer along with other various siding and window trims work The quality of work was excellent and very professional Good quality craftmanship and high work ethics coupled with good communication and very friendly. Customers say: Quick response

"We needed Crown Molding installed in our living room. We found the style we liked and we called Brian after finding this company on Home Advisor. He returned our call within the hour. He arrived ON TIME the next day to measure the room for an estimate. We had an estimate within 24 hours and within a week, we had beautiful crown molding. He was meticulous and did not leave behind any debris. It actually came out better than we expected. This is not a job for a handyman, installing this type of woodwork requires skill and we highly recommend calling Concept Craftsman! Perfection is the cornerstone of this company! Thank you Brian - we will definitely call on you again if we need anymore woodwork done in our home."

" **Above and Beyond Kitchen Contractors – Absolutely Outstanding!** We recently had the pleasure of working with Ernest who is the owner of *Above and Beyond* for our kitchen remodel, and I couldn't be more thrilled with the results! From start to finish, the experience was seamless, professional, and above all, the craftsmanship is exceptional. The team was not only punctual and respectful, but they truly listened to our needs and vision. The quality of the work speaks for itself. Our kitchen has been completely transformed into a space that is both beautiful and functional. They really did go *Above and Beyond* in every sense of the phrase! Our home is a 1733 antique so it presented unique challenges. When they took the kitchen down to the studs we discovered that some major reinforcement needed to be done which they accomplished in record time to keep us on schedule. Wow, and at a fair price too! How often can you say that! A true pleasure to work with Ernest and all his crew!"

FAQs for baseboard installation projects in Marlborough, CT

Installing crown molding can be challenging, depending on the material and your skill level. Lightweight materials like polystyrene and softwoods are easier for homeowners to install themselves, offering a cost-saving option. However, heavier materials like hardwoods and plaster are difficult to work with and require professional installation to achieve a high-quality result. Precision is crucial in measuring, cutting, and fitting crown molding, so hiring a professional ensures the best outcome.

Crown molding is available at various price points, ranging from $1 to $30 per linear foot, depending on the material. This wide range offers options for every budget. Affordable materials like MDF, PVC, and polystyrene provide cost-effective solutions, while premium materials like exotic hardwoods or metal offer a luxurious appearance at a higher cost. Regardless of your budget, you can find crown molding that enhances your home's aesthetic.

Crown molding is installed by professional finish carpenters or painters who specialize in detailed trim work. These experts possess the necessary skills and tools to ensure precise measurements, accurate cuts, and seamless installation. By hiring a professional, you can achieve a flawless finish that enhances your home's aesthetic appeal without the risk of common DIY mistakes.

Crown molding can be installed in various areas of your house to add elegance and architectural interest. It is commonly used where walls meet the ceiling, but you can also place crown molding around doors, windows, mirrors, and atop cabinets. Installing crown molding in these locations enhances visual appeal, creates a cohesive design, and adds a touch of sophistication to your home's interior.

To determine how much crown molding to purchase, start by measuring the length of each wall where you plan to install crown molding and add the measurements together to determine the total linear feet required. Purchase an extra 10% of material to account for waste from cutting angles and to ensure seamless joints by using full-length pieces when possible. Including additional material helps avoid shortages and ensures a smooth installation process.

For a professional crown molding installer, this task takes about 1 to 3 hours per room, depending on size and complexity. Factors like the material, design intricacy, and number of corners can affect the time. If you're doing it yourself, expect it to take longer as you get the hang of measuring and cutting precise angles. Advanced measuring and planning or hiring a pro can help the project go smoothly.
