My carpets look new. Pet stains were removed and the stairs are immaculate, I would recommend them without hesitation. I would hire them again in a heartbeat!"

"The quality of the workmanship was good. The crew was friendly and respectful. However, they did destroy one screen and a window blind from the window they used to throw the old carpet through to the ground. I did not point this out to A & D because they did not follow up with a "post installation walk-through" as stated in their contract agreement. In summary, the sales staff did appear to be a little distant once they received my payment checks. Also, I did notice a statement lying next to the new roll of carpet that their costs was .06 cents per foot and .54 cents per yard. If that is the case I feel quite foolish -- and taken -- accepting to pay the price they offered. My wife also insists that the installed carpet in not the same sample that we selected in their showroom (she was at work during installation). Caveat Emptor."

"When scheduling the service I had forgotten to ask about their method, so was greatly relieved that they use steam. (The last service did an excellent job of cleaning but used strong chemicals which gave me a migraine and filled the house with extremely strong odors which lasted for weeks, despite prolonged use of fans and open windows and doors during a severe cold snap.) <br /> The carpet had many dark orange/brown sticky stains from an oil-based medication my cats took daily, plus the usual accumulation of grime. The loveseat had black smears of industrial grease. The grease didn't come out completely, but that could be partly or entirely because I had ground it in with my panicked attempts to get it out when the incident happened. Nevertheless, Shawn did a good job. I had thought the carpet had been pretty much perfectly cleaned until I inspected the room having most of the medication stains, in preparation for writing this review. A few suspiciously dark spots proved upon touching to still be sticky. This does not change my view of the quality of the job. (The prior company got the stains out completely and with no sticky residue, but the harsh chemicals made me so sick I just couldn't use them again, which was a shame.) I didn't know if steam could handle the medication stains or the grease, so I was very happy and still am. And maybe next time the residual of the stains will come out. <br /> <em>A note about the cost</em>: I used a voucher purchased on Daily Deals for $49 and the loveseat added $35 to that. I don't know what their usual charge is. <br />"

Over the next two years The Carpet Shop did their best to rectify the issue with the manufacturer however in the end the manufacturer was unwilling to compromise thereby resulting in an ongoing law suit between The Carpet Shop and the manufacturer. </p> <p>As soon as James and The Carpet Shop realized the manufacturer was not going to compromise to rectify the issue they took action to ensure we were no longer inconvenienced and performed the complete installation of a new wood floor (our choice). This included their paying for all associated costs and full credit from the original purchase. We only had to pay for the difference of the cost of the new flooring vice our original flooring. They did this with no guarantee of a successful resolution of their ongoing law suit with the manufacturer. Many companies state that they stand behind their products and reputation but unfortunately when taken to task, fail to perform. The Carpet Shop not only stands behind their products and reputation, they set the standard for all in business to aspire. </p> <p>If you are considering any type of flooring for your home or business, you would be very wise to select The Carpet Shop (now Merit Flooring) for all of your flooring needs. James Newsome and The Carpet Shop's customer care and professionalism are beyond reproach. Quite simply, they are the best of the best!</p>"
