"From the moment I contacted Ed I felt as if it would be a good outcome, and I wasn t disappointed. We walked all around the house foundation-repair project and discussed possible fixes. I asked to see pictures of previous jobs, he presented the proposal, I mulled it over, and I received responses to my questions. I made the required deposit, he provided reasonable start and finish dates and kept me updated on the schedule. He rebuilt about 90% of my 100 year-old house foundation/retaining wall, and painted it along with the porch, stairs, window frames, threshold, etc. He placed vinyl railings and covered three columns. DAM Concrete is a new company, built off of 10+ years in the trade. I started with my families company in Toledo, OH and then I joined Local 886 as an apprentice and in 4 years I became a Foreman. I decided to move down the Columbus 3 years ago working as a supervisor for a company. I've been on all sorts of projects from residential driveways and stamped patios, to commercial warehouses and apartment building to just name a few. I've always had the goal to own my own company one day, and I'm starting to live that dream.

"I needed to replace my front brick steps from Brick to Concrete. We have been running into loose bricks, pretty much after each winter, to the extent that I was concerned about safety of visitors (my brother-in-law fell on a loose brick). Chris and crew showed up on time (like 1 min early!). And they did a great job taking all the bricks out and pouring concrete instead to give us a peace of mind and a good looking concrete steps. Throughout the process, Chris explained to me what is going on in detail and answered all my questions. I probably asked him the same question a few times and he patiently answered my questions. Chris is a master mason with specialty in concrete. He knows what he is doing and does it well. He is humorous, generous and a gentleman. Chris (personally) spent a lot of time power washing other areas of my pavers even though that was not part of the deal. I offered to pay him for it but he refused and said "I just want the place to look gorgeous when I leave. I highly recommend Chris and his team for any concrete / cement work."

"Tim and his father did a great job replacing a couple squares of sidewalk at our home that were done improperly by a different contractor. They got me an estimate and fit me in their schedule quickly, all while doing the work the right way at a fair cost. I would definitely ask them to do additional work in the future and recommend them if you need concrete or masonry work as well. They are also licensed in Columbus and insured. Before hiring any vendor to do work at your home, I highly recommend you verify both of those things. I came across a number of other concrete vendors who did not have either or both of those documents and some were less than forthcoming about it."

"When they started the project, the concrete which was already cracked, seemed to be coming up pretty well.  When that was removed, they found a lot more gravel under the concrete than they anticipated so it was an additional time and expense to remove that.  The garage sill had to be repoured and they began installing the correct type of gravel and pounding down the base.  Being  April, it rained a lot in there and it slowed the progress as you can imagine.  Can't do much about the weather.  I also had some blocks on my garage foundation that were loose so they refilled the mortar to stabilize the foundation. This is when we found that the gutter drain pipes were broken and clogged.  They installed new piping and we cleaned out the remaining pipes before installing the pavers.  By having the "O" in the middle, it made for a lot more cuts and took some additional time but it was worth it.  They sealed the driveway and finally they installed the sod around the edges.  Along the way Jake had to deal with a major personal issue but handled it very well.  Jake and his crew did a very good job and handled all the little things that came up very professionally.  I don't know of any other contractor who would have worked with me the way they did.  In my opinion, they provided me with a great finished product and I would use them in the future.
