"Len is one of the nicest people that we have ever met. Not only is he a quality business owner, he is a quality individual as well. Len was very patient with us & walked us through all of the different styles, qualities & options of both carpet & tile that were available. In addition, Len was extremely helpful & accessible throughout the entire process, & he helped us choose both carpet & tile that were high quality, great value, & most importantly, that were priced within our budget. Plus, his customer service is second to none! I will only ever use Len & his team for our future flooring needs & once you meet him I am confident that you will too!"

"Our purple carpet had about 100 urine stains from previous dogs and our own. The specialist, Robert, matched to color and treated every spot. If we didn't know where they were, we'd never know they spots had been there. Perfect job!"

"<p>     Wow.  I could not be happier.  At the store, everyone we meet was friendly and patient.  Helpful by making suggestions, but did not try to 'sell' me anything.  Patiently indulged my many visits, and borrowing samples over night and did not try to rush me.  Once I decided on a medium cost flooring, no one tried to upsell me to anything more expensive.  They were happy to provided me with anything I wanted.</p> <p>     At my home, everyone was friendly, and always neat and clean.  Everyone was always professional.  <br /> <br /></p> <p>     Most impressive.  When crunch time came and they only had a small piece to finish the job, they stayed until late at night to get the job done.  I was amazed in a good way.  I was happily surprised that the job was finished in time for Christmas. The result is beautiful.  I inspected everything very closely.  They cleaned and polished the entire space.  They took time to instruct me on care and maintenance and gave me a starter bottle of cleaner and a mop.  <br /> <br /></p> <p>     After the job, there was no change in the pricing.  No Surprises at any point in our dealings. Everything was exactly what we agreed to up front before we started. Even the time schedule was as agreed.  And the paint they used on the quarter round molding....I asked if I could have the left over in the can.  They went out of their way the next day and drove a long distance to my house make sure I got that.</p> <p>     There were no problems.  (amazed again)   But I'm sure if I had any concerns, I could have had the owner on the phone working to help me in a heartbeat.  These are good people, at a good price.</p> <br />"

"We visited their showroom, where we selected the floor that we thought would work. They suggested a few more for us to consider, then insisted that we take the samples home to judge them against the room conditions. The next day Mr. McNair came to our home to measure the rooms and set the installation appointment. The installers were punctual, courteous and professional. They removed the 20+ year old carpet (took it with them), cleaned the concrete floor (even added an enzyme solution to pet urine areas that had soaked into the floor), installed the new floor, and also added the shoe molding that we purchased. They moved furniture when necessary (we did most of it before they came). <br /> After the second room was complete, my wife noticed that a small amount of the floor glue was on the surface of the new floor. She called them to ask them how to clean it, but instead- within minutes- they were back to take care of the problem and to show her exactly what to do if the problem came back. <br /> If you want a flooring job done right the first time, you absolutely cannot go wrong with McNair. This is the second time we have used them and, if we need more flooring in the future, we definitely will call them. <br />"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Mendenhall, MS

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
