"I wasn't home, but per my wife, Very well..Steve came out the night before after 5:00 p.m.thinking he could get he job done then, but realized it was more involved than I was able to tell him over the phone. He came back the following morning, early, and completed the Job very quickly, even running a new drain pipe from my A/C unit in the house that drains through the plumbing in the bathroom sink. Thx Steve for great customer service."

"After searching Angie's List for someone to remove cracked wood and replace it, I was very well pleased with Patch of Heaven Lawn and Home Care, LLC. The owner immediately contacted me to come out to review the area for repair. I received a reasonable quote and accepted it. The workers were here a few days later and completed the job with excellency. I am well pleased and will be contacting Patch of Heaven again for more work. This company is quick, reasonable and does great work. Highly recommended!!!"

"I received my radon results in a timely manner. I did not hire them specifically, (so, I cannot say I would hire them again) the local company contracted them for this service. The home inspector I hired, handled this service for me and included the results in his report."

"Called Jerry for an estimate for some work, He came the next day and had priced materials and contacted me the next day with estimate which I felt was fair. Offered him the job and confirmed a start date depending on the weather of course. He asked for money upfront for supplies, no written contract was given. The day that he was to pick up the money for supplies, I didn't hear from him, called him around 11:30 and he said he would "start gathering his supplies tomorrow". The 2 day job would now be 3 days plus the delay and couldn't guarantee the work to be complete then. It was not a complicated job. Though Jerry and his wife were nice, I didn't get the impression that he really wanted to do the job. He did not appear to be busy, since I called his home number each time and he came to the phone. I'm not sure he even has truck to work out of. I just didn't get the feeling that he was reliable enough, so I decided not to use him. <br />"

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Mendenhall, MS

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
