"Tech came out on 5/18/22 just as a rain storm was beginning to spread Cool Power . He clocked in at 11:45 to 11: 57am. Previous visit 4/13/22 same tech...same yard...clocked 8:35 to 905am. On 5/18/22 I watched tech whip his little automated cart around driving with left hand and waving a leaf blower behind him with right hand. I felt sick but did not know the strength of chemical he was spreading. (Also caught on security cam) Result numerous dying and dead rose bushes, browned evergreen ground cover, day lillies and ivy. Owner made an appointment yesterday to see damage. I stayed home all day. Owner never showed. Note each photo is a different carpet rose purchased for $29.99 each"

"This company was already working on gas lines in our condominium complex. They were kind enough to add us to their schedule to check out our unit's gas pipes. They were very thorough and explained a lot of things. They didn't find any leaks in our unit. They did get rid of one old pipe and capped it off."

"Extraordinarily poor service and communication. In late 2020, I asked AIS to inspect our existing lawn irrigation system, advise us about winterization (because I was unfamiliar with irrigation system maintenance, having purchased the home with an irrigation system pre-installed), and to provide us with a quote for upgrading it and replacing a few sprinkler heads. After AIS inspected our system, we signed a contract for them to upgrade and maintenance work in Spring 2021. We also set a time in for them to come back out and winterize our system. My initial optimism with AIG was misplaced. When AIS returned to winterize the system, AIS informed us for the the first time that our system was the type that did not require them to pump the lines to prepare for winter. Although zero work was done, AIS charged us for this additional "winterization" visit anyway. In 2021, AIS was a no show on the contracted upgrades and maintenance. By the time AIS contacted me about the contracted upgrades, it was already Fall. We agreed to have them contact me in Spring 2022 to discuss doing the work then. In Spring 2022, AIS called to ask if I was still interested in them doing the work. I said yes. AIS informed me it would be $300 more than we originally contracted for because "prices had gone up." I pushed back by reminding AIS that we had signed a contract, that they had already charged me for unnecessary "winterization" work, and that I was now irritated and feeling like like AIS had taken us for a ride. Rather than express empathy or remorse, AIS simply argued that they tried reaching me but couldn't. (Which was nonsense because they had visited my home twice and also mailed me a bill for the "winterization" non-work.) Ultimately, I gave AIS the option of either: (A) sticking to the original contract and price to which we'd agreed, or (B) telling me that they wanted to back out of the contract, upon which we would agree that the contract was no longer valid and that neither party would seek enforce the contract against the other, and that I would take my business elsewhere and write a report about how poorly AIS had handled the situation. AIS chose Option B."

"After interviewing several landscaping services, we decided to go with Calanni Landscaping. Sam Calanni is very knowledgeable and takes pride in his work. During the planning phase, Sam always explained the trees, plants, and shrubs that would be installed and any information if they were appropriate for our yard. He was always very prompt to any inquiries we had. Sam hand picked beautiful mature sized plants for our yard. His team is also very professional, courteous, and like Sam, takes pride in their work. They installed a paver patio and beds with trees, shrubs, and plants for us. Everything turned out beautiful. We have received many compliments on how our landscaping looks. Sam is also great to work with. Besides his great sense of humor, he is willing to go above and beyond to make his customers happy. We decided after Sam completed our job, that we wanted a spruce moved to another location. Not only did he move the spruce, but he would not accept any additional compensation. Sam will also be installing our lawn soon and we are confident we will see the same great results. Thanks Sam and to all of Calanni Landscaping."

"Adam Felkonis and Moe Alrajabi are unprofessional and not ethical. We hired them to remove a tree and pour a concrete pad. While stump grinding the tree, Adam and his team hit our main gas line. Adam and his team did not mark where the line was beforehand. We were without gas for an entire week and not so much as even a "sorry" from Adam. When the bill came, we requested that the plumber's fees ($1,500) be offset from the bill. Adam called my wife a liar multiple times and refused to take any blame for Precision's mistake. Moe did more of the same with us. Beware of doing business with them. Jason Klein"

"The contractor is a happy-go-lucky guy who is likely to be underestimated initially as less serious about quality and not a polished professional. But this contractor has the experience and reliability to deliver a satisfying product. The advantages of working with a contractor company that is closely held in the family and is interested in staying in business are hard to miss."

FAQs for lawn and garden sprinkler system installation projects in Mentor, OH

While drip irrigation systems have higher upfront costs, they can save you money in the long run. By delivering water directly into the soil with minimal evaporation and runoff, drip irrigation systems conserve water and improve efficiency. This means better performance and results for your landscaping, and cost savings over the system's lifespan.

Yes, irrigation systems can add value to your home, especially when installed with high-quality materials and a solid design. A well-irrigated landscape enhances curb appeal and can attract potential buyers. However, poor design or installation may reduce performance and even decrease your property's value. Hiring an expert for installation and performing regular maintenance is key to securing the long-term benefits.

A local irrigation professional can help you check your drip irrigation system to make sure it's in good shape. You'll want to make sure the water pressure is in a good range, repair any leaks as soon as possible, and cover the cost to winterize your sprinkler system as recommended by your irrigation contractor.

A drip irrigation system lasts between 10 and 15 years. This lifespan is determined by the quality of materials, the precision of installation, and regular professional maintenance. Unlike traditional sprinkler systems that can last up to 50 years, the thinner piping used in drip systems is more sensitive to UV exposure and environmental wear. Proper upkeep and timely repairs enhance durability and ensure consistent irrigation performance.

Drip irrigation is best suited for plant beds, containers, greenhouses, and row crops. It supplies water directly to individual plants, ensuring precise moisture control where it is needed most. For areas with simple layouts, above-ground systems work efficiently, while subsurface installations may be cost-prohibitive in spaces with extensive tree roots or irregular terrain. Proper planning maximizes the benefits of drip irrigation across a variety of applications.
