"A soft wall due to improperly installed gutter by some other entity or homeowner caused water to constantly leak into the wall from the exterior roofline. This soft wall grow moldy and become riddled with pests/bugs. The contractor identified the potential issues, agreed to explore and open the walls and discuss the conditions, made sound recommendations for repair and did exactly what was noted in the repair (replaced a load bearing exterior wall, fixed the sill plate, completed the roof, shingles etc. and closed up the walls on the inside with insulation and sheet rock.). The work was timely, well done, the workers were clean as they did the job and kept the rest of the property clean. The manager of the job David Apel was and is an excellent communicator with phone/email/text and photos of processes and progress. I am going to use this company in my own investment endeavors on other properties and projects given the level of finished work, the timing and especially the level of detailed communication."

"<p>The fencing looks fine. The problem is the professionalism and punctuality. I paid $5000 up front with and agreed upon start date. With that start date, I arraigned 4 weeks off of work to accomplish what I estimated to be 1-2 weeks of landscaping required after the fence went up. Problem is, they didn't start on time, and by not on time I mean they didn't start for a month. During that month, not single phones call from them. After the first 2 week delay, I started to call them. No help whatsoever, first phone call was answered with "who are you, I don't have you on our schedule", repeated calls after that were answered with different ******** reasons why they couldn't accomplish the work. Funny thing is, after the work was accomplished they sure found my telephone number. I was called by the secretary ever 3 or 4 days requesting payment. I refused to answer the messages until Bill Walsh called. Requested a meeting with him;  of course, now he is able to find my house within an hour. He had no real answer for the delays and no concern for my inconvenience and extra cost ($2500 I had to pay someone to do the landscaping I had planned to take care of myself). </p>"

"It was an absolute pleasure doing business with Southington Rustic Fence. They were extremely flexible in working around my schedule, and were creative in working through the specifications with me. When I was unable to meet with tem at the house, they walked the property with me on the phone and we were able to collaborate on an approach. They drew out maps and worked very effectively through email, exchanging pictures, etc. to insure I was getting the fence I wanted, installed the way I wanted. I had a very rocky terrain and some difficulties that they were able to expertly handle. My sales rep Michael was in touch with me throughout the entire process. We had some on the fly adjustments that we needed to make for various reasons and they were able to accommodate these changes with little notice. The fence was amazingly installed in two days and it looks absolutely fantastic. In my previous home, in a different area of Connecticut we had a fence put in by a different fence company that serviced that particular area. There is absolutely no comparison to the quality of job and customer service between that company and Southington Rustic Fence. I would use them again in a heartbeat."

"As described above, this turned out to be a much larger project than originally intended. Kelly was flexible enough to be able to take on the additional tasks at very reasonable rates and see the project through to completion. <br /> Kelly was very thorough in implementing all aspects of the project as agreed upon. The quality of the final job was exceptional. I think we were very lucky to have found her through Angie's List and I have already asked her for estimates on other projects we want to get underway. <br /> That being said, I also have to say that I understand some of the frustration expressed by other people who have reviewed this service here. Communication is not Kelly's strong suit. She seems to rely completely on her cell phone, and that may not be adequate for a growing business. Stuff happens, and if she had a Business Manager or even a competent secretary, communication with her customers when things need to be rescheduled would make things go a lot smoother.  It is very frustrating to be left in the dark when the schedule needs to be adjusted. I think this would be a great opportunity for a retired business woman who is looking to mentor a bright and hard working young lady trying to get her service established. It would be a shame for it not to succeed due to a lack of understanding of Business 101. <br />"
