"I would highly recommend Rizzo Fence to anyone looking for this service. Bill was very responsive and accommodating to all of our needs. We went with the 6ft wood fence and the results are fantastic. Our yard is uneven with a lot of rocks and Rizzo Fence was able to get the job done!"

"<p>Action Fence installed our fence in a single day, which was incredible. It looks great, and we've gotten a lot of compliments on it. However we asked them not to put it on the property line, and to NOT box in two small electrical boxes at the corners of our property. We told them on the phone, we told them in email, and we told them in person. Since we had had a pre-installation consultation with them, we did not feel the need to be home during the construction. When we got home, we realized not only had they put the fence on the property line, both of the electrical boxes were inside the fence. When we talked to them about it, they directed us to a manager and said we would have to pay extra to get it fixed. We forwarded our email stating our requests, and the manager got back to us right away and said they would fix it, at no additional charge. But they left the fence on the property line and just chipped in the two corners, so that the electrical boxes are now on the outside. Overall, we don't mind that the fence is on the property line, or that the corners come in, but it was frustrating that we had communicated 3 times what we wanted and we still didn't get what we asked for. However they fixed it, at no additional charge, and the fence really does look great. I would recommend Action, but be clear on what you want and maybe plan on being home so that you can make sure the posts are going in where you expect them.</p>"

"They did what I asked them to do in a timely manner. I get my new batteries for the fence every 3 months. They also send me a letter every year to renew. When it's time to renew, they just remind you that it's time to renew. If you need an invisible fence, you call them and they come up and load it in. You don't have to wait 6 monhs for them to show up. When they're done, it's done. It looks just like they did before. They just do the job and I've never had an issue where it didn't work. There's nobody else who does what they do. The other thing is they don't change prices. The only thing is that the batteries do cost a little more but the point is, when they come in the mail, you know it's time to change the battery."

"The roofing repair went well, and then I asked Mr. Evans to come to another city where I owned another home that we were remodeling and needed to sell soon. We needed some electrical ,and plumbing work done . I asked if he was licensed to do that. He replied that " he was". I inquired about city permits, and was told that "I did NOT need any- as this was a minor repair, not a complete rewiring job". Having dealt with the city before, I KNEW that was not right, as permits ARE required for ALL work done by contractors in the city. I then asked him if he was registered with our state. He replied that he was. I checked online, and found nothing under the company name of American Contracting. I DID find his name under another company name- J.E. Improvements. However, this registration did NOT list electrical, or plumbing. When I told him what I had learned- he said that he would simply call the state and ask them to add the two categories to his listing ! I was amazed that they would do such a thing over the phone, and called them myself. I was told that "anyone who is registered can call and add anything without submitting any proof of additional licenses". They told me I needed to check with my local city for licensing. I called the Scranton office of licensing and permits, and was told that " Mr. Evans is NOT licensed as either a plumber or electrican in Scranton". He had also told me that he installs and maintains furnaces and heating systems. He is not licensed to do that either in Scranton. He CAN do roofing and siding as that only requires a contractor to pull a permit, and he can get one since he is already registered with the state of PA. There were a couple other things that bothered me. First, he kept saying that he "preferred to be left alone when he worked" and that "we could just leave a key to the house and did not need to be there while the work was being done". Also, I had asked for estimates on painting and a new roof and possibly siding and was told that he "did not write estimates until the customer agreed verbally to a price, because it was a waste of time because some people didn't call him back". Upon checking, I found that he registered his company name as J.E. Improvements with the state on 7/23/2009, yet he did a job for someone on Angie's list in SEPT. 2009 under the name American Contracting. Under Pa. law , doing jobs under two or more company names MUST be reported to the state. I asked the state if they had any listing for American Contracting- they said "NO". Bottom line is this : Mr. Evans is a nice man, did a good job on our roof repair, but if you want him to work in Scranton, be aware that he is NOT licensed for electrical, plumbing or heating, and can NOT pull permits for that work. He CAN do roofing, siding and painting as I am told. permits can be obtained for those jobs as long as he can show his PA registration card and current insurance of $50,000 or more."
