"The project went very well! Marvin gave us a solid quote under $4000 that included a return visit in July to apply a seal coat over the patio. The crew came in mid April and completed the project in 2 days. The work was done in a way that did not damage our existing grass and/or beds. "The project came out much better than I ever thought it would. We had pulled up the carpet and tile on the basement floor and it had left a black mastic that we could not get up. We did not want either tile or carpet back in the basement in case of any water leeks. Although  A O Handy is in Wisconsin, they assured me that it was not a problem for them coming to Chicago for the work. They ground down the cement floor in the basement (about 1000 sq ft) to remove the mastic and to level out some floor. In addition, they filled holes with a cement that matched the existing floor. They applied a clear sealer to the floor. While they were there, they suggested that they seal the concrete floor in the garage. Since they had all the materials there already, the cost would be significantly lower. Made sense to me, so I had them do that also. In that I had put most of the things from the basement in the garage, preping the garage was a huge job. The guys helped me clear out the garage and were a big help, especially with the heavy things. The only down side to the project was the odor from the sealer. The garage odor cleared out quickly, but it took weeks for the basement to air out since there was so little ventilation there. The finished results: LOVE, LOVE, LOVE??..

"Sears' package of services allowed me to worry very little because they coordinated all the trades. Sears has a longstanding reputation for standing behind their products, something I had not found to be true with other contractors I had used in the past. Thecarpenter/job coordinator who did the refacing work was wonderful to work with, making minor modifiations as necessary to fit my needs.  I had not originally intended to purchase new appliances, but Sears offered me such a great discount that I added a new cooktop, double ovens (which required some cabinet modifications), and a dishwasher, which were installed by the carpenter.  He also coordinated the quartz countertop and flooring installations. All of the work Sears did was well done and professional. After the job was completed, I noticed that a door in the den that had to be cut off to accommodate the new flooring was a bit rough, and they sent the carpenter back to fix it within a week. I was somewhat concerned that I would not like the laminate used to reface the wood cabinets, but it has turned out to be very attractive, more durable than wood, and easy to clean.  No one can even find the seams in the quartz countertop or the Congoleum flooring, so I feel that their workmen are very experienced and skilled. I not only would recommend Sears to others, I would use them again for other work."

"I LOVE these guys!  I first saw them working in someone's yard, and the young men were conversing pleasantly and very intelligently.  That's the first thing that impressed me.  I took notice of their advertising and noticed that they use organic methods, something I had been looking for.  I took a look at their website, and I contacted them about the possibility of doing a yard clean-up. 
Nick came out, saw the yard, and drew up a proposal.  I was surprised that anyone would be willing to clean up this horrible back yard at any price at all!  For an extremely reasonable price this group of young men removed 2 trees, got rid of the jungle of very healthy monster weeds, removed the abandoned piles of brush, and took several trailers of yard waste away.  They also did the same for the front yard and both sides of the house. 
We continue to use their services.  As mentioned, they mow our huge, irregular lawn, and they do trimming every-other time.  We just had them do the fall seeding and aeration.  We plan to use all their regular lawn services next year. 
We will probably also use them to do snow removal this winter.  Mother Earth Organic is a wonderfully dependable group of workers who are conscientious about the products they use.  I could not be happier with these people.
