"Chip, his wife, and their big dog were all extremely courteous and helpful from the start.  They were not pushy and did not try to "sell" us on anything.  We told them what we wanted and they helped us get there.  It seems simple enough but all of the other places we looked at charged for measurement estimates and even charged for the flooring sample to take home.  Big Dog does a free measuring estimate and gives you several samples to take home for free.  Chip, the owner, himself came out to measure the house.  My kids are young and followed him everywhere and he treated them like they were friends which was very nice.  After discussing what all we wanted done and a comfortable price we had workers at our house the following week.  We could have had them the next day.  The carpet was done in a few hours and looks fantastic.  The flooring took 2 full days and looks great.  I had to pull the refrigerator out to hook up the water line and even behind the fridge looks as good as the rest of the house.  They guarantee that they will undercut any estimate by 5% so there is no possible way that you could get a better deal.  I highly recommend Big Dog Flooring and we will be using them again in the future. <br />"

Fortunately, Hoosier Refinishing had inserted a flyer in the Sunday Star and that is how I discovered them. Greg responded to my call the same day and, upon viewing my nine outdoor pieces, offered to do work on one of them...at NO charge...to be sure I was happy with the work before committing to the whole job. I was almost resigned to the idea of replacing all the teak with something else, thinking it could not be revived, so I could not be happier. And, Greg noted that their company also stores and cleans up patio furniture during the winter, so I plan to use that service every year going forward. "The Foundation Doctor did a great job! Don appeared to be very knowledgeable about foundations and drainage issues. He gave some very helpful suggestions, and actually recommended that we do less work than we thought we might have to do. There were a few delays in the process due to weather and other circumstances that Don couldn't foresee or control, but he kept us informed about the process--and delays--along the way. His team did some repointing of mortar for us which was a little messy. When we asked Don about this, he and his team came back to our home and cleaned things up pretty well. We were very pleased with the work Foundation Doctor did, and have found that it pretty much corrected our basement water problem. We have been managing that for many years, so we wish we had called them sooner!"

"The owner (sorry forgot his name) showed up on time, measured the house and went over his bid with me.  He was very thorough told me exactly what was expected of me (move furniture) what the sanding process entailed and the final finish they apply.   I didn't proceed because there was so much else to do here and refinishing the floor would probably be one of the last things I do.   I still intend to update the bid from him, and take others, when it's time."

"James started working for me last August when I purchased a house that was just a mess.  He came and helped me design a new kitchen which totally changed the original lay out of the current kitchen.  He installed a new hardwood floor thoughout the kitchen/living area, installed a gas stove (was electric before),  installed new cabinets,  new counters,  tiled the backsplash, lighting,  electrical work, dishwashers,  new plumbing for new sink and garbage disposal,  The original kitchen had the soffits still in place and he removed the soffits and drywalled and painted the area.  <br /> James was always on time,  very professional, and did great work,  he always consulted with me and gave recommendations as to the best way to proceed keeping budget in mind.  My kitchen looks fantastic,  couldn't be happier!! <br /> James also build a hearth for my fireplace,  did a great job of matching old slate tile in the entryway after the removal of a half wall and column.  He also was able topatch to match and exisiting wood floor in the corner where the half wall had been before. <br /> Since then James has been back a few times,   he replaced some broken pipes due to the freeze this winter.  This was a busy time for all contractors but even though he was busy he still fit me in and fixed my issues.  <br /> He has also been out and worked on a leaky roof, and  cleaned out gutters. <br /> It seems no job is too big or small and I would recommend him to anyone.  I just got my house reappraised last week and for the money I have invested in the house I have seen double the return in appraised value. <br /> <br />"
