"Excellent crew leader, and crew. Their mission was to make a smooth transition from driveway to garage concrete. Nailed it ! Left, only when every asphalt pebble was swept up. Thank you, CPA. You have an excellent work ethic."

"Mr Emory was very professional and did a wonderful job. He was awesome and punctual. He showed up when he said he would and did the job he quoted. When finished him and his crew made sure to clean every last bit of old asphalt up. He swept and hosed down the area after. He and his employees were very respectful. His work is outstanding. I would definitely use again and refer to others."

"Tom provided the best quote out of 3 companies. He came out the same day I called gave and gave a quote on the spot. Since I gave 2 other companies a chance to quote I waited until those quotes came through before making a decision. Not only did he provide the best price the job turned out perfectly. Tom and his crew got rid of the bottom 1/3 of my driveway which was cracked up pretty bad and replaced it with new asphalt. He put a tar strip down at the seam. <br /> I highly recommend A1 Paving for your paving needs. You won't be disappointed. <br />"

"I have a 30 year old driveway that has seen better days. It’s not in my budget to have it replaced, so I wanted to find a company that would use hot tar to seal the cracks and then apply a brush-on sealer. I contacted several companies that would not do both of these procedures, and if they did, the price would almost double. I found RDS’s website and requested a quote via e-mail. They promptly got back to me and scheduled a date to come and do a free estimate. The gentleman that did the estimate was willing to hear me out on what I wanted to get done, and took it all into account. The crews that came to do the repairs explained everything, were very quick, and cleaned up after themselves. Long story short, RDS did what I wanted, when I wanted, and for a terrific price! The driveway looks just like I wanted, and it will hopefully last until I can get it replaced."

"This was the final stage in a major project to correct a drainage problem at the front of the residence. To correct a rain water runoff problem, the entire lot surrounding the driveway had to be regraded, including constructing an underground drainage system and raising cement paving that runs parallel to the front of the house six inches above the original paved area. J.R.'s Driveway Service had to engineer the new driveway surface to ensure that water runoff would run into the areas serviced by the new underground drainage system - not an easy feat. However, three weeks after the installation of the new driveway and through several heavy spring rains, the new driveway has proved to be absolutely faultless in dispersing runoff!"

FAQs for asphalt paving installation projects in Middletown, PA

Most driveways wrap up in roughly a week. Allow two to three days for installation, followed by an additional two to three days for the surface to cure. Concrete and asphalt follow this timeline, whereas a gravel job often finishes more quickly. Laying out the schedule upfront makes it easier to plan your week and your budget.

Sealer prevents water, salt, and UV rays from damaging the surface. Apply a fresh coat every one to three years, and you’ll slow down the growth of cracks, avoid pricey repairs, and keep the driveway looking sharp. A local professional can handle the job efficiently and ensure even coverage.

Material is the significant driver when it comes to the lifespan of a driveway. Asphalt stays strong for about 20 years, concrete lasts 30 to 40 years, and paver stones can last 50 to 100 years because you can swap out damaged bricks. With regular top-ups, a gravel drive can also reach the century mark. Knowing these timelines helps you map out long-term maintenance and replacement costs.

Repaving strips everything down and starts fresh, letting you change the layout or improve drainage before pouring new material. Resurfacing, on the other hand, adds a top layer over a solid base, giving you a facelift without the need for a complete demolition. Go with repaving when the base is failing; choose resurfacing when the structure is sound and you just need a new surface.
