"I am extremely pleased with the work done by Mike of McDaniel Maintenance. He sanded, primed and painted a steel front door that was pealing that and had rust spots. Also sanded and painted the surrounding trim. He also replaced blinds over the kitchen sink. And wired a ceiling light to replace a bathroom fan. Mike was polite, professional and cleaned up the areas nicely. The price was very reasonable. I would definitely recommend McDaniel Maintenance. It is great to to find a company who is willing to do small jobs. If we are in need of a handyman that will be who we call. "

"Overall, Tom was personable, professional, and he got the job done fairly easily. I trusted his judgment in what kind of mounting hardware to use into the wall -- which was probably the one issue I had with how things went. Mr Handyman only provides their labor; the customer needs to provide ALL materials, which initially was challenging because the guy that I spoke to on the phone said that I had to wait until their guy arrived to even know what parts to get! He said the handyman would tell me what to get, and I'd need to go to the store -- while the guy is at my house -- and get the mounting hardware! (As a side note ... who would leave their house with someone they don't know inside it?). But then when I protested on the phone, he suggested I go to Home Depot and ask them, and get what they suggested (which made me wonder ... I'm hiring them for THEIR knowledge, right??). So my solution, which was the least painful in my mind, was to go to the hardware store and buy multiple different mounting options, and have them available for their guy to choose from (after which, I'll take the ones he didn't use back to the store). The only other point was the price, which, to explain ... Mr Handyman is a bit on the high side, because they charge for a full hour in addition to their service fee, even though Tom was only actually working at my house for about 30-40mins."

This was particularly remarkable coming off an experience on Thumback with someone who looked superior on paper who turned out to be a swaggering mess, with no standards on communication or coordination -- regardless of his decades of experience. If all of American Handi Services' team are like Kyle -- I can't wait to work with them time and time again. Kyle immediately assessed the situation and we agreed on a plan, which did involve a dip out to the store. He was clear on time management, incremental expenses (i.e. the nuts and bolts he had to go buy), and even just being in our home. He moved about as though he were in a gallery where people were sleeping. Then, he was fast and meticulous with the work. Just excellent. We are already booking our next job. I'm making a list!"
