Most importantly, Sam, Anthony and project manager Adryan were on site every day coordinating the work and reachable within a moment's notice. In a very short three and a half weeks in August, the Universal team completed the complex plan.  New Pennsylvania fieldstone masonry work at the base of the home was installed first, including a new retaining wall.  A brand new timber tech rear deck was built.  Twelve new windows were installed.  All new James Hardie siding was installed and a substantial nine by twelve foot front portico completely transformed the front of the home.  Large scale reno is inexorably daunting, but the Universal team was communicative throughout the process. "Working with Rob and the Hammer Exterior team was the best choice I made for my project. During the pandemic I changed my house project priority from indoors to outdoors. I evaluated four contractors who came to my home, evaluated the siding and gutter replacement, and gave their proposals. I chose Rob and team for multiple reasons. First, I felt Rob had my best interests at heart. Others told me all about them, with less focus on my needs and home. Second, Rob took the time to review the project expectations, being transparent that some costs would not be known until the current two layers of siding were removed â one the original layer from early 1900s. Other contractors glossed over this. Third, Rob took the time to show me the materials that would be used, and their cost and impact to my home now and over the long term. Other contractors showed me the materials but did not go into detail. Rob was even kind enough to review material differences across proposals and share the pros and cons - even if I were to not choose him for the project.
