"We are so happy with our new patio! The Foundation1 hardscape team was an absolute pleasure to work with the entire time. John was extremely responsive to all of my questions and concerns throughout the design process. Once they were able to get started, they worked extremely quickly, in the hottest week of the year. They had to dig out and replace our wall/patio completely by hand because our house is raised and getting equipment back there is not feasible. And yet, they worked so efficiently, they made the job seem easy - and it definitely was not! They were also extremely thorough! And were very willing to help me out in small side projects that we added on as we went. Even after the main project was completed, they came back to tackle the tuck-pointing because they didn't want to rush it. They even came back on two separate occasions when I was concerned about the drainage on small spots on the patio. They take a lot of pride in their work and want to make sure their customers are happy. I would definitely hire them again (although they did such a great job, I don't think I'll need another patio for 50+ years.)"

"In 2013 I was out of town on a trip. My wife called in a panic because water was coming in through a crack in the basement wall. We had lived in the house for 20 years with no issues. Recently we had new sidewalks poured which disrupted the water flow from the house. This caused water to seep back into the foundation. The Leaky Cellar came the next day and provided a fair estimate and repaired. When I returned home I was very pleased with the work, timeliness, and price they charged. A less reputable company could have taken advantage of the situation. Recently we had the annoying water seepage in our stone foundation. The Leaky Cellar proposed various options to address the situation. They recently installed interior drains. The men were very professional and answered all my questions. For a messy job, they left the basement in good shape. I was very pleased with the work, price, and professionalism. I would recommend them to a friend."

"We made an appointment with Madalein Odell last year to look over our landscaping and propose up grades.  Our landscaping was approximately 50 years old.  She asked us about our budget limits and our level of interest and experience in gardening activities necessary to maintain new plantings.  Madalein developed a recommendation for replacing our tired juniper bushes with new beds of bushes and perennials.  The recommendation including phasing in the work so the cost could be spread out.  Her estimate including a written description of proposed work, detailed costs, sketches, and printed materials describing the plants in the proposal.

Madalein's workers installed the work with her supervision.  Work was done professionally and punctually.  The plantings were beautiful  Madalein e-mailed us instructions for watering, fertilizing, etc.  She e-mailed us special instructions when the weather was challenging.  She provided us with photographs of our landscaping she had taken before the work, and we were shocked at how really bad it had looked.

When one of the bushes looked ragged due to winter kill, she replaced it.  The rest of the plants are flourishing - demonstrating that they were the right selections for our yard's sun and soil conditions.

"It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. My e-mail that he sent me was forwarded to my new address and I didn’t know that the company was doing that. He got back to me within 48 hours after purchasing the deal but I never got the e-mail. I called his number and he called me back to wonder why I hadn’t responded to his e-mail on setting up a time. We got everything set up. He came out, measured it and told me he will figure out a bid. I had the bid first thing the next morning. He has great eyes. When he tells you something, that’s what’s gonna happen. He told me that he would be able to start the job about a week and half from that time. He was right on schedule. They had to come out and inspect the area because they had to follow codes. You also have to remember the dumping fee of all the old concrete that had to be ripped out and this was included in the price so it was a good deal. He had to take it to his truck and dump it and he had to pay dumping fees in order to do that. It was totally fair. I have 2 more jobs for him as soon as I can afford it. Everything was cleaned up. It couldn’t be any better than this. This is good stuff. He’s happy and likes me because I gave him a check the minute he was done.This guy is good. I already recommended him to my friends and neighbors."
