"Fantastic--Alex is prompt and does excellent work. I had all of the very old window screens in my home replaced, including one screen that needed to be made from scratch due to a bent frame. A few years ago, Alex made a new frame for a screened patio door with great results, so I asked him to redo the screens on the windows this year. Alex arrived promptly, removed the window screens, replaced the screens, made a new frame and screen for one window, and then put the window screens back in. He worked efficiently, is friendly, and his price was more than reasonable. I'm very happy with my new screens and just as happy that I know who to call if I need additional work--Alex aka The Screen Guy. Thanks, Alex!"

"I was a little nervous about ordering windows on the internet using measurements I'd taken myself, but I loved the design on the website so, initially I only ordered 2 windows to check the quality, my ability to measure accurately and the company's ability to build to my measurements. Jeff, the salesman I dealt with was attentive without being overwhelming and the first order was delivered in about 4 weeks. The windows were exactly what I was looking for and fitting them was a breeze. I followed up with another order for the remaining 13 windows in my porch and again, they arrived quickly, were of great quality, exactly to size and easy to fit. Looking forward to see how they last their first winter."

"Brak was great. I had a hard deadline because of a family event with out-of-towners. Barak made sure that the project was completed on time even with a short deadline and weather related delays. He kept me advised thoroughout the project. My cedar deck really does look new again! Reasonably priced too! Great job."

"The project design was outstanding.  Orfield thinks out of the box to provide cost-effective solutions.  The sub-contractors were <br>all competent, met their timelines and deadlines, and behaved in a professional manner while in our home.  Problems and other issues were attended to in a timely manner and resolved to our satisfaction.  This was a major remodeling project which went extremely well.  Each phase of the project happened on timeline we had been given at the beginning of the project.  "

"Don't let Scott's relaxed style fool you, he (and his team) know what they are doing. Our house is three stories, was built in 1889, with an exterior that is both brick and wood clapboard, shingles, trim, molding, etc. Where there is wood there is a lot of detail which all had to be hand patinted. There were already four different colors on the house which we thought we liked, but we took Scott's advice to change up the colors and couldn't be happier. He said once he was done we'd see more detail in the architectural features of the house, and he was absolutely right. He helped us pick colors, and talked us through his ideas for what we might do on the house. I appreciated the time he spent making sure we understood what he was planning to do. Even though we always agreed with his plan, and eventually told him we trusted him and he had artistic license to do what he wanted, it was great to be kept well informed. Because Colorstyle does more than just painting Scott and his team were able to take care of any issues that came up along the way (which for us weren't that unexpected, some rotted wood, windows that needed some TLC, etc.) rather than just moving right past them or having to wait for someone else to come deal with the repairs. The "one stop shop" nature of that was fantastic, and I had as much faith in their work on the non-painting parts of the job as the painting that was done. Overall, I appreciated Scott's forthright and easy going personality. He really knows his stuff, I trusted him and would definitely recommend him."

"We replaced some original windows in our 30 year old house and one set of an H window that was 20 years old. <br /> The H Window was a triple pane that just could not hold its looks or function.  Flipping the H Window over to clean it <br /> was nice, but that operating arm allowed too much cold into the house.  The new Fibertec windows are so much <br /> quieter, I told my wife I could hear her thinking.  We got the wood veneer like the original window we replaced in 2014 <br /> and they look super.  I had a blower door test done on the house and there were no leaks on the windows.  The installation <br /> was perfect.  Clean up was very well done, no sign that they had been in the house.  We also got the new interior trim <br /> that they just started offering and that also looks super.  We did have trouble finding out what stain they used on the trim <br /> (it came stained and sealed) in order to match the wood veneer that we finished ourselves.  We are planning on doing one <br /> or two more purchases to complete the windows in the house.  They are expensive but well worth it. <br />"

"They did a good job but I would have brought in an architect to straighten out some of the details that were overlooked or missed but that is probably the only problem I had with them, but then again it is not their fault, it is my own fault for being short sighted.  We didn’t know what we were doing anyway, does anyone?!  We haven’t done an addition on the house before and we have been in this space for thirty-five years.  We put in a lot of windows in it and it looks like a three-season porch but it isn’t, it is actually a four-season porch and the guy really knocked himself out getting it designed but when it came down to building it , not so much.  I ordered a Chalet look to windows on the east side of the house where the addition is, and it didn’t occur.  I asked him if there was any way to change that and he said no, so I let it go but it turned out be a favor because the ferns will now get watered better from the rains.  I wanted that European feel but that is my own quirk, I can't fault him for it at all but I wish I had known because we could have put it in the design easy enough and got it done, had we known ahead of time what they were going to do.  They put the footing down in May 2012 and they weren’t done until the end of July 2012 but it was not their fault because we had a lot of rain then.  The original quote was around a $100000 and even with the overruns, it came about $25000 under than the other bid we got, which is fair enough.   They subcontract the work and the workers that they bring in are excellent and have been with the company for fifteen to twenty years and are so happy to have the job that they knock themselves out to do the job right, that you will not get disappointment, which is my advertisement for Sussel."

FAQs for sunroom or patio enclosure building service projects in Montgomery, MN

A sunroom is a fully enclosed space with walls of windows or glass. It allows you to enjoy the outdoors from the comfort of the indoors, protected from bugs and weather. It functions as an additional room in your home. A covered patio extends your home's roof over an outdoor area, providing shade and shelter while remaining open to the fresh air. It's a great way to enjoy outdoor living while being protected from sun and rain.

Adding screens to your porch is the most budget-friendly way to enclose it. Screening keeps out insects and debris while letting you enjoy the breeze and outdoor ambiance. It's less expensive than installing full walls or glass enclosures and doesn't usually require permits, making it an efficient way to upgrade your porch.

If you're transforming your porch into a fully enclosed living space like a sunroom, you'll likely need a sturdy foundation, such as a reinforced concrete slab, to support the structure. For a simple screened-in porch, you might be able to use the existing floor and support posts without additional foundation work. It's best to consult a professional to determine what's needed for your project.

An enclosed porch can be considered a living space if it's fully enclosed with solid walls and windows, has a proper roof, and includes heating and cooling systems. It should also have direct access from inside your home. When these criteria are met, the space becomes an extension of your home's livable area.
