"Travis came and assessed our water heater and agreed that it needed replacement. He then took care of the removal of the old water heater and replaced it with a new one. He also updated everything to code so we were good. Travis proved great service at a reasonable rate. We definitely recommend him and his company and will use him when needed in the future!"

"The guy that showed up was informative but I was quoted $290 for a new fill valve (that they provide) or I could pay $212 for one that I provided. They also did not have the flapper on hand for my toilet (Kohler) that was supposed to be included with the $29 tune up deal and said there would be $69 charge for that."

"Vince came to look at my oven, which was only heating to 200°. He was very nice and professional. He confirmed the oven was not operating properly and suspected either the board was bad or the temp sensor. He did not have the sensor, so made another appointment to return. Unfortunately, the problem was not corrected with the new sensor. Vince only charged me for the $75 service call.

While my experience was positive, I am now suspicious about this company. On Angie's List they go by "Appliance Repair For Less." Their web site says they have a A+ rating with the BBB. However, I could not find their business name on the BBB. Their invoice has the name A-1 Appliance Repair.

A-1 Appliance Repair has a F rating with the BBB
.
This strikes me as suspicious and dishonest. I would never contract with a company that has such a low BBB rating.

"Our over-the-stove microwave began starting on its own.  At first, it only happened when we were boiling water on the stove below.  Within days, it began to start with no provocation, sometimes in the middle of the night.  If not stopped, it would keep running and grow very hot.  We were afraid it might come on while away or asleep, and start a fire.  While we unplugged it to prevent further run away conditions, living without a microwave was a problem.  We reached out for help.
Steve came to our home, assessed the problem and took the appliance apart.  He quickly isolated the problem.  It seems the motherboard had gotten moisture inside it.  The moisture had expanded when hot and damaged to board.
Steve ordered a new board and just replaced it.  Problem solved.
Throughout the process, Steve has been great.  He answered our questions, helped us explore alternative resolutions and kept us informed about the status of the parts.

"Technician came to the house and analyzed the problem. It was determined that the cost of repair was over the allowable Choice Home Warranty limit and it should be replaced. Choice Home Warranty issued their replacement cost. This cost was unacceptable and I challenged their figure. After some negotiation I was offered an increased settlement amount. I still balked at their offer but I was told to take it or repair my old microwave. I finally accepted their amount, even though it is still well below what it will cost me to replace the unit. I might add that the existing microwave has the convection feature and I want to replace with same features. The cost that I will receive also does not include any removal, disposal or installation costs. At this time I am debating whether I will continue with Choice Home Warranty or consider other options."

FAQs for appliance (smaller size) installation and replacement projects in Morristown, AZ

Garbage disposals last around 10 years when properly maintained. If your unit is getting close to that age or repair costs are increasing, it might be time to consider a replacement. Regular maintenance and careful use can help maximize your garbage disposal's performance and help it reach its maximum lifespan.

There are several signs to watch for that indicate your garbage disposal needs to be replaced. Replacement may be necessary if it doesn't work even though it's properly connected, the blades are worn and causing delays in operation, a persistent foul odor that won't go away, or leaks coming from the bottom due to a compromised seal. If you're experiencing any of these issues, it might be time to consider getting a new garbage disposal to keep your kitchen running smoothly.

A plumber or handyperson can install your garbage disposal if the electrical connections are already in place. If you need additional electrical work, you'll also need to hire a qualified electrician to handle the rest of the job. Hiring local professionals ensures the installation is safe and up to code.

It’s important to avoid putting certain items down the drain to keep your garbage disposal running smoothly and avoid clogs. Expandable foods like pasta, rice, oatmeal, and bread can swell and cause blockages. Coffee grounds, grease, fats, and oils can accumulate and create clogs. Hard items such as meat bones, nuts, and fruit pits can damage the disposal blades. Eggshells, potato peels, and fibrous vegetables such as celery, pumpkin, corn husks, artichokes, onion skins, and asparagus can wrap around the blades or obstruct the pipes.

Not every sink is suitable for the installation of a garbage disposal. The compatibility of the sink with the disposal depends on the material and structural integrity. While many standard sinks support these units, fireclay sinks are prone to cracking under the added stress and should not be used. Confirm that your sink can securely accommodate the disposal before installation.

Choosing the correct size garbage disposal depends on your household size and how much waste you produce. A 1/3–1/2 horsepower unit should be sufficient for households with one to two people. If your household consists of three to six people, a 1/2–3/4 horsepower unit is recommended. FA3/4–1 horsepower model will be necessary. For larger households of five to eight people
