"Mike from Apollo electric did all of the electrical work for an addition to my first home. Mike is on the job each day and is a pleasure to work with. He is knowledgeable in all phases of electrical work, as well as in general construction. This was a huge help during the construction of my home addition, as he offered excellent suggestions to move the project along in an efficient manner. Mike’s work passed Montville Township inspections with flying colors. Mike has recently installed electrical upgrades to our pool, HVAC system, and lighting in our new home. All work has proceeded smoothly. I would recommend this company to anyone."

"Ken was great throughout the whole process of installing a bathroom exhaust fan. I hired him because he was very pleasant and professional on the phone, and he understood what I needed done. He worked with the schedule and short time I needed a bathroom fan installed because I had a state inspection coming up. He would answer the phone when I needed to ask him a queation, or he would call back when I left a message. It turned out the wiring from the old fan was not to code, so he figured out a way to rewire the bathroom fan without breaking open the walls. This was important to me because it was a rental unit, and I did not know what to expect. It was a great experience working with Ken, and I would recommend him for any electrical work!"

"Second time using B-Tec electric and I think now they are my go to electrician. I used them previously to upgrade my panel to 200 Amp and this time to hook up my new electric water heater. Both tasks were completed perfectly and fairly priced. I highly recommend B-Tec electric!"

"Scott is very experienced and he knew what to do with an electrical problem that I had. Opposed to other electricians, Scott knew exactly what was wrong. He did a good job and I am especially impressed with his honesty. Scott didn't use scare tactics or try to talk me into other unneeded electrical work."

"Outstanding & Awesome! Highly Recommend! We Canâ t find nearly enough words/great things to say about Mark/MD Electrical! My Husband & I are first time home buyers & we were scouring to find an electrician for home electrical upgrades including adding new wiring for our electric fireplace. Called Mark/MD Electrical & he was able to make himself available that very evening to look at the job & provided a quote within 24 hrs. Obviously we hired him! He got the job done promptly, explained everything in detail & even cleaned up afterwards! We appreciated all of that so much. Also, you can see that he actually enjoys what he does & will ensure that youâ re satisfied. A week later (after the initial job was done), my husband & I decided to call him back because we were inspired & hired him to do a small 2nd job that we thought of last minute, totally unplanned. We hired Mark again and he managed to squeeze us in & even worked later evening hours to get the job done because he knew we wanted to finish the sheet rock/close the wall. Mark, youâ re our electrician savior! The most sincere Thank you! Eve, Laz & Lili (canâ t forget the bird)"

"Current Electric Contracting LLC was efficient and professional in their overall response to our issue. We had to have a few breakers replaced in our panel. Their pricing was fair. We will definitely keep them in our contractor database and hire them again."

FAQs for electrical wiring or panel upgrade projects in Morristown, NJ

A whole-house surge protector blocks voltage spikes from lightning, grid issues, or even large appliances before they can fry your wiring or electronics. By diverting excess current at the main panel, it shields everything from your HVAC to your phone chargers and can extend the life of pricey appliances. Homeowners in storm-prone regions or with older panels see the biggest payoff, but any home that relies on sensitive electronics benefits.

Most whole-house surge protectors work for two to three years. Low-level spikes—too small to notice—hit your panel every day and slowly wear down the internal components. Once the unit’s capacity is depleted, it can’t prevent a larger surge, so plan to replace it on schedule (or sooner if a major lightning strike occurs) to keep your electronics and HVAC equipment safe.

A surge protector begins guarding your circuits the moment an electrician snaps it into place. Whether the spike originates from a nearby lightning strike or your fridge kicking on, the protector shunts the extra current to ground before it can reach outlets or hard-wired systems, such as your AC. That instant response is why a small upfront cost can save thousands in appliance repairs.

The unit mounts on or next to your main electrical panel. Type 1 models sit on the supply side, catching outside spikes before they hit the breaker. Type 2 devices snap inside the panel and tame surges that start within the house. Either way, placement at the panel lets the protector guard every circuit at once.

Plan to swap the device every three to five years—or sooner if you upgrade your panel, add high-demand appliances, or notice flickering lights and tripped breakers. Relying on a maze of power strips is another red flag that your current setup isn’t keeping up. Replacing the surge protector at these milestones keeps your electrical system on safe footing.
