"Chris did a great job. Had a water heater in stock, so was able to complete the job the day he showed up for the estimate. Only 4 Stars, because he was 17% higher cost than competitor, but he was able to complete the job the same day."

"An appliance serviceman had difficulty with a connection problem and thought it might be the result of a faulty circuit breaker. He suggested that I get an electrician to come in to check it out. When electrician is mentioned, only one name comes to mind: Dave Nagel. I called him and he came out the next day. I've used him for various problems several times now. And he came through again, as usual. He checked the circuit breaker box and found nothing wrong. Then he asked where my GFI switches were. I showed him. He found that one to be okay. But he insisted that there had to be another one. He looked around and could not find one. Then he said, "Could you move that coffee maker?" I did and there it was. And that was the problem--it had tripped. But still he was not satisfied. He said that there was something wrong. One receptacle was not connected to the GFI that it should logically be connected to. He said that it would be a good idea to get a GFI for that one. I said okay and he went to get one. He returned with the part and quickly installed it. Just a tip for anyone who would like to use his services: Because he is so busy, it may take more than one phone call to contact him. Be persistent. It is worth it. I wouldn't use anyone else."

"On a recommendation, I called Marcucci to recharge a wine cellar AC unit. When the service man came out, he quickly advised that the type of unit I have couldn't be open or recharged in a reasonable manner. OK, but that could have been determined at the phone call by asking me what kind of unit it was (an experienced service man would have known this). They charged $150 for the 15 min service call to tell me that. Not happy."

"Caccia ran into an unexpected underground obstacle while replacing our sewer lateral. They set up a temporary sewer line so we could use our home while they used additional labor and equipment to complete the project. Caccia honored the original quote amount with no upcharges for the extra work required. Caccia handles contingencies well. We have used them in the past and we will use them in the future."

"Calvey is a company in which industry best practices are sometimes not followed. In 2021, Calvey installed a 4-ton, single stage Bryant suitcase unit on my property. This unit has seen less than 20 hr, likely less than 10 hr of runtime in these 3 years. It has evidence of an electrical fire due to completely loose - not even snugged connections on the contactor which should have been torqued to 35 in-lbs. In my case, this led to the failure of the contactor, which lit on fire and shorted out the 24v control coil, which killed my Nest thermostat before blowing the fuse in my furnace. This would very likely have been prevented if Calvey had followed industry best practices, which are to use a clamp meter to measure LRA and FLA to ensure they match the LRA/FLA rating. Taking this measurement immediately after installation helps prevent this kind of failure. I have a more extensive review, but I've hit the character limit. You can find it on Google Maps and Yelp. "This is the first online review I've ever written -- my experience with this company was that bad. Three aspects that deserve attention: 1) I placed an order and tried to cancel six minutes later. Turns out they don't accept cancellations. 2) I couldn't find a phone number, so I had to work the return/refund by email. The exchange was painful -- so unhelpful I felt like I was interacting with a bad chatbot. 3) I ended up eating shipping costs (expected) and got hit for a 50% restocking fee (unexpected) because I refused the package instead of paying to ship it back. Didn't matter that it went to the correct address, was clearly labeled, and had prior return authorization. So I ended up with a $21 refund on a $60 order, and a lesson learned about where not to buy appliance parts."
