"Joe and his team were a pleasure to work with.
We had kind of an unusual project, but they jumped right in and handled it beautifully.  The project was set back by problems on the supply end (not the fault of Brick Solutions, but rather of Lowe's, who sold us a broken window) and Joe took it in stride.  He just moved us around in his schedule and everything worked.  (We were able to be somewhat flexible, which helped.)
When problems came up (again, with Lowe's), he returned text messages within minutes and gave me the confidence to move ahead in his absence.
As the project progressed, we asked Joe to do other related tasks (like our steps and eaves), which he was happy to do at a very fair price.
The only drawback was that Joe & Co. don't  do any interior work, so we had to hire other contractors to finish this rather large project.  Not a big deal, but we would've been perfectly happy to hire Brick Solutions to do everything!

"The first person that they had come out to my home was an unscrupulous individual who tried to defraud both me and the company he was working for.  The owner, Billy Bussey, was very apolegetic and even offered to fix the shoddy work that was done by him.  The workers came and the three of them worked extremely h****** everything that they did.  They were here until very late on the final day of work.
I was under the impression that someone would walk me through everything that was done to see if I had any issues.  Instead, I was just notified to pay the remaining balance.  When I said that I had an issue with the way the retaining wall was left, they said they would come out and look at it.  They then said that they did not see any issue with the wall.  The original wall that had been removed ran along the driveway and then turned to form a 90 degree angle.  The new wall only went along the driveway but did not turn so the dirt was falling out and mud was running down the side of the garage.  When I asked about this, I was told that they had completed the work exactly as it was written in the contract that I had signed.  I tried to explain that two sides of a retaining wall were removed but only one replaced, the owner began threatening a lien on my home if I did not pay the balance.  When I explained that I never said that I was not going to pay the balance, I just wanted to know why my retaining wall was no longer retaining the dirt, he made an appointment to come out and see it.  Both he and his foreman came out and fixed it by making the wall shorter and curving it in.  I have since went and purchased some rocks to put over the remaining dirt so that, hopefully, I do not get mud down the side of the garage when it rains.
I signed the contract in early June and the work was not done until late August.  That was a bad time for me because work had started and it was extremely difficult to get in contact with anyone over the phone.  There were a few things in the contract that were not done but because they worked so hard to fix the mess left by their salesman, I did not make a fuss about them.  The contract called for a Japanese Maple to be moved but then I was told that the timing was wrong for moving it, even though the contract stated the time of the planting.  The front of the home was supposed to be power-washed but was not.  But as I said, they tried their best to appease.  I think there needed to be better communication between the salesman and the workers and that would have avoided issues such as the plants being too close to the home, not ordering the correct number of stones to complete the retaining wall and not doing the power-wash.  In the workers defense, they worked very hard to fix the deck that was incorrectly cleaned and then stained anyway.  The rogue salesman took all the money for that and so the company went above and beyond to fix that issue.
I am not sure if I would use the company again.  My experience had a few negatives and the only wow factor I had was with the retaining wall but it was incomplete.  Telling me that the work was performed exactly as was stated in the contract is a cop out.  It was obvious to me that the wall would not retain the dirt without another side so it should have been obvious to them.  I should not have been the one to point that out.

"Tony is heads and tails above the other contractors we were exposed to in Southern VT. Looking out for our best interest at each turn throughout the project Tony proved his value on multiple occasions to us and got projects done to better than expected results each time. We will use him in the future and we consider him a friend, started well and ended well. Very few speed bumps to speak of that were not created by us!"

FAQs for brick and stone patios, walks, and steps installation projects in Mount Airy, NC

When cleaning your flagstone patio, begin by gently hosing off loose dirt and debris. Use a mild solution of white vinegar and water or diluted dish soap to scrub the surface with a soft-bristled brush. Avoid using abrasive tools, such as wire brushes, as they can damage the stone’s seal and finish. This careful approach effectively removes mold and grime while preserving the natural beauty of your patio.

Flagstone naturally offers a neutral palette that includes shades of grey, black, red, yellow, brown, and tan, and its inherent color cannot be altered. Choosing varieties like bluestone provides a subtle bluish tint that complements many exterior designs. These natural hues enhance curb appeal and create a refined, timeless look in your outdoor space, ensuring a sophisticated finish with minimal upkeep.

Flagstone for a patio must have a minimum thickness of 1.5 inches to reliably support furniture and foot traffic. Using stone that is two to three inches thick is recommended to ensure lasting durability. The increased thickness prevents cracking under load and enhances long-term performance. Investing in thicker flagstone provides superior stability and resistance to weather conditions, ensuring your outdoor space remains both safe and attractive.

You can paint a flagstone patio by using a high-quality, outdoor elastomeric latex paint designed for heavy foot traffic. Painting not only refreshes the patio’s appearance but also creates a waterproof barrier that protects the stone from damage. Regular reapplication every one to two years maintains its durability and visual appeal, ensuring your patio remains both stylish and well-protected.
