"Recently we hired Ardmore to replace the glass in 2 of our skylights and install a new storm door. Other than rain delays the skylights were installed in less than 2 hours as Ardmore sent 2 crews for the installation. They even came inside to vacuum any debris that might have fallen into the house during the installation. (5 out of 5). The installation of the storm doors was different. It took over 10 hours for 2 men to finish the installation which I felt was excessive and felt they didn't do the installation correctly. The difference between a good company and a better company is how well they fix a problem and to this point they are doing a better job. When I called to complain the scheduler immediately suggested they send out someone to inspect the work and within 3 days someone came out and fixed 2 out of the 3 problems and said someone would be calling me and ordering a replacement part to fix the 3rd problem"

"Amazing contractor. Very fair and worked very quickly. I was surprised how quickly he was able to repair my son’s ceiling. It was made of plaster and began to shift. Ari was able to demo and install drywall the same day. He exceeded my expectations. Will definitely use him again. Highly recommended."

"Pat replaced the stairs of our back porch, installed the porch screening, and replaced our front porch posts. We were very pleased with his workmanship, and the fact that he listened to our requests and offered ideas for our projects."

Small jobs welcome

"Ted and his crew are extremely talented and reliable. I called him late in the season to remove an existing wood deck and steps and replace with composite decking and railing. He came out when he said he would. He completed the job very timely and efficient. They kept the work area clean waste all in a safe place. I was/am very pleased with the work done by Ted and his crew and would highly recommend them for remodel work."

"I was glad I contracted with Greg Gallaher. Greg's work exceeded my expectations. Through the process, I discovered that he went above and beyond basic requirements. Greg was very responsive to any questions or issues that arose and was always quick to correct. Greg was also open to giving me advice for portions of my addition that I chose to finish myself. In buying materials for work I was doing myself, I was informed by suppliers that they were familiar with Gallaher Construction and spoke very highly of his work. I was not disappointed. Greg Gallaher built me a solid addition that is a great upgrade to my home. He was attentive to my needs and desires and preformed above and beyond what I expected. There is no part of my addition that I wish I had done differently. Greg always seemed to go above and beyond the norm and surprise me with the caliber of his work. I will now be able to enjoy my dream room for years to come thanks to Gallaher Construction and the A1 job that he did. I recommend Gallaher Construction with a top rating. If I ever need additional work, Gallaher Construction will be my go-to source. Thanks for the great job, Greg."

FAQs for doors (interior) installation and replacement projects in Mount Ephraim, NJ

If your existing frame is in good shape, you can replace an interior door without changing the frame. This is a budget-friendly option because it saves on the cost of removing and installing a new frame. By choosing a slab door that fits your current frame, you'll save on labor and materials. Just make sure the new door matches the old one's dimensions for a smooth replacement.

Standard interior doors are 80 inches tall and range from 28 to 32 inches wide. Interior doors vary from 24 to 36 inches wide, depending on their purpose and the available space. Building codes require interior doors to be at least 80 inches tall and 24 inches wide. Knowing standard sizes helps you select a new door that fits properly in your existing opening.

It costs $600 to $2,000 or more to move an inside door. The total price depends on your location, the type of door, and materials needed to complete the project. Moving an interior door requires walling up the leftover space and opening up a new wall where you want the door to go instead. You’ll also want to plan for the expense of framing the new wall opening and adding trim.

Exterior door installation costs an average of $1,175, with a typical range of $525 to $1,800. The higher expense compared to the cost of interior doors comes from the need for exterior doors to be weather-proofed and they are often made of thicker, more durable materials. The associated exterior hardware must also be able to withstand harsh weather, so these cost more as well.

It costs between $300 to $2,500 to make a doorway wider on average. However, the wider you need the space to be, the more it will cost. Some homeowners choose to widen interior doorways to make the house more wheelchair accessible. In order to be wheelchair accessible, an interior door needs to be at least 32 to 36 inches wide. Also, some older homes just have narrow doorways due to the nature of how homes were built differently many decades ago.

It takes between two to five hours for a professional door installer to install an interior door, depending on complexity and materials. A pre-hung door typically takes around two hours, and larger doors like double French doors can take up to five hours. If you’re doing the project yourself, expect it to take a little longer than that, especially if you have little to no experience completing this type of project. Keep in mind that a pre-hung door can be installed about an hour or two faster than a slab door.
