"I've used Brian's plumbing services several times. In October, 2017, he replaced the "guts" on 3 toilets in my house. In November, 2018, I noticed that 2 of the toilets were leaking slightly. (I used the old food coloring test in the tank to determine this.) I called Brian and he responded quickly. He replaced 3 flappers in the toilets and would not accept payment for this service. He told me, "I stand behind my work." (Mind you, this was 13 months AFTER the initial work was done.) In the next few days, I noticed that one of the toilets was still slightly leaking. Brian came over and using a utility knife, slightly trimmed one of the flappers. That was several weeks ago and that did the trick. No leaking since then. Brian is a true "find." He's my go-to plumber!"

Payless Plumbing

"On this occasion, Payless responded to an emergency leak under my sink that required a good bit of repair and two trips due to the part being out of stock with Moen. This was probably my sixth time using Payless for either plumbing or electrical services, in addition to general carpentry repairs. They are always prompt, always reasonable, and the work always turns out well. It is extremely convenient that Mr. Winstead, the owner, is licensed in both plumbing and electrical because you can get everything fixed at once. Payless has, over the years, replumbed all my bathrooms w/new faucets and pipes underneath, worked on my HVAC humidifier, installed a new TV with new cable and electrical connections, replaced a bathtub faucet, installed a new shower, installed a bunch of lights in my attic, fixed a telephone line, and upgraded all my outside hose bibs. When my kitchen light fell, they came and put in a new one the next day. When our garage door spring broke two years ago, he sent a friend to fix it within 2 hours. Mr. Winstead actively looks for ways to keep the costs down, and has sometimes been able to fix something I thought needed to be repaired, saving me money at his own expense. I think this is the sort of business worth cultivating a longterm relationship with, because once they know you and have worked with you, they will put you on their client list and be responsive. <br />"

"It went great! I needed someone to install a sink ion my laundry room, as I had discovered a crack in my old one after water leaked out all over the laundry room floor. I call All About The Pipes Plumbing and spoke to Mary Geiger, I explained what needed to be done and that I needed to order the sink from Lowe's. The team showed up on time and completed the work quickly and efficiently. I was very impressed and would recommend this company."

"Provident Plumbing was recommended to me by a friend. A plumber was out within one day of my call. He replaced the old heater and hauled it away at a good price. No complaints about the service, and everything has run smoothly since. My husband and I are planning a kitchen remodel in the next six months, and we plan on using this company again."

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Mount-mourne, NC

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
