Emke, the head of operations, took the measurements and supervised the demolition and construction. Sirin, who has a wealth of design experience, helped with tile and counter choices in their attractive showroom that carries top-of-the-line fixtures and vanities. She coordinated the order and ensured that every building material and fixture was on hand before the job began. All three came to check on the job progress. <br /> The main bath was gutted, retaining only the porcelain tub. Solid tiled the tub enclosure to the ceiling, and tlled the other walls to a four-foot height; replaced the tile floor; replaced the toilet; installed two pairs of sconces; installed two shower heads; and added a quartz counter with undercount porcelain sink. Provided a custom-framed mirror to match the cabinet. Their carpenter customized a new vanity to fit a narrow depth--cut it down expertly, including the drawers, and created custom matching shelving to expand the width. They painted ceiling, remaining untiled wall spaces, linen closet and wood trim. They indicated the work would take about 15 workdays, but actually finished in 12. <br /> We contracted for extra work while they were on site, replacing a toilet, repairing 4 cracked floor tiles, and replacing porcelain sinks and quartz counters in other baths. <br /> There were no surprises--their contract covered everything.  <br /> Two months after the job, I called about a problem caulk area and a sticking door in the new bath and they came right away to correct the problems. <br /> Dealing with Solid is effortless for people who live it Old Town--they are based here and you can make all your design choices without driving all over to tile and plumbing supply houses. I would definitely use Solid again and tell all my friends to do so, too.  <br /> <br />"

"We met with Jeffery Colon in his shop in Herndon in December, 2015. He was very accommodating and helpful. After understanding our needs based on the photos we had brought of our couches, he generated an estimate of the cost of the job. The price was acceptable, although more than we had envisioned. However, we decided to go with The Upholstery Shop while there in the shop.  <br /> Jeffery was helpful in showing us all the possible fabrics we might consider. He then gave us 7 books of swatches to take home to consider. Two days later we had selected a fabric to our liking and informed Jeffery. Because we would be out of town in January, we requested that the work take place then. There was some confusion about pickup of the couches (3 weeks after we placed the order) by Eddie. Nonetheless we arranged for someone to meed Eddie at our home for pickup while we were away. <br /> In mid January Jeffery notified us that the job was complete and requested when it might be delivered. Again, because we were away, we had to arrange for someone to receive them. Upon our return, we were very pleased to find that The Upholstery Shop had done a great job. We have no complaints and are pleased with our new couches and ottoman. I would recommend them for any reupholstery job without hesitation. <br />"

"Craig Staples came to give me an estimate of the work I needed to have done shortly after I called Staples Electric.  He was pleasant, realistic and gave me a few suggestions for lighting in my kitchen without making me feel compelled to go with them.  Craig understood what I was asking for and sent me his estimate with links to the lighting company (so that I could take a look at the lights) within a day or so. <br /> Roberto and Jason were to arrive between 8 and 10 a.m.  They were very prompt arriving at 8:05 a.m. They covered all of my counters; worked quietly and efficiently with the work completed at 10:20 a.m. Roberto and Jason showed me their work and  how to change the light bulbs before leaving and took all work debris with them.  My kitchen looked the way it did before they arrived!  I love the lighting Craig suggested.  Roberto and Jason did a magnificent job installing them.  <br /> I would highly recommend Staples Electric, LLC to anyone needing electrical work and I do plan to use them again. <br />"
