"The owner initially came to my home to assess the work I needed to have done. He is very knowledgeable about landscaping. The time he spent upfront was greatly appreciated as he fully understood to my landscaping needs. He had great ideas on how to replant a tree, recommend how to control grubs and how to properly care for specific plants. Once the project began the owner was no longer involved. In fact, I never saw him again. In addition to his landscaping services I had him give me a bid for painting my new fence and yard fence. The painting itself was very nicely done however, the worker(s) were careless and left several oil based paint spots damaging 15-20 of my brand new pavers. When I addressed this with The Owner he replied via email his worker(s) told him they didn’t do it. I provided pictures of the pavers as proof to substantiate my claim. The Owner had his lead come by our home to fix a sprinkler head that was covered during sod repair and to remove these stains. When I reached out to The Owner again he solely relied upon his lead who promptly told him the oil based paint stains were removed. The stains still remain, I’ve contacted my pavers company who clearly stated “oil based paint cannot be removed!” It became blatantly obvious the owner was siding with employee. In fact, The Owner not once has stepped foot on my property since he took the bid. He never came to oversee the project and all contact with him has been via email or text. Lastly, we were in agreement to plant a new tree. As of this review, I have never heard back and there was never any follow up as to when this would be done. I really had high hopes In the beginning and I am very disappointed in The Owner’s project management. He appears to be knowledgeable but my recommendation is that he needs to manage his team, stay closer to the project and make an attempt to do a final walk through. Lastly his hourly bill rate was inconsistent vs. negotiated. Hourly rate doubled for final day of painting which I regretfully paid."

"While they are a little on the pricier end of things, I have to say that I am more than pleased with the power wash, bleach and preserve that the crew did on fence and pergola. When they were done it was like they were brand new! Highly recommended!"

"This is the third time I have hired Justin and Ian of Plane & Stain for a project at my vintage home, near downtown Redwood City. I had an existing corner deck that I wanted to extend across the width of the back of my yard. I did have other providers give me quotes, but I went with Plane & Stain for the following critical reasons: <br> <ol> <li>Quality of previous projects at my home</li> <li> Available project start and completion date<br></li> <li>Attention to detail and doing the job right</li> <li>Reasonable quote and project scope, including materials, fully detailed</li> </ol>I met with Justin once to discuss the project. Within a day Ian had the quote to me. Within 2 days I had signed on the dotted line and secured a start date. To my surprise, and delight, they were able to start a couple of days early! Justin came out to get his crew started. I was able to remind him about not only my deck requirements, but also a solution for blocking off a space that kept my yard from being completely secure for my dogs. <br> <br>Work started Friday afternoon, the 24th. All the footings were put in that day. Saturday was all the structural framing and start to laying down the deck boards. Monday morning, the 27th, Justin and Ian were here bright and early. I had sent them a text with a very simple question. They decided to come out and answer my question and also be there when the crew showed up. <br> <br> The deck was finished just after lunch. Justin came out to do his inspection. I let him know how happy I am and that no doubt that they will be back for another project. I am probably looking at new fence next year and they will be the people that I hire. <br> <br>My house was built in 1894. I find it extremely important that the people I hire are not just competent, but also respectful of what a special place it is. <br> <br> <br> <br> <br> <br>"

"Workers arrived on time and completed main fence including removal of old materials on first day. Returned next morning to complete both gates. Two worker did great job and cleaned up area. My neighbor and I are very happy with new fence."
