"I considered both fiberglass and gunnite pools.  I could not get the pool size I wanted with an automatic cover in the fiberglass so decided to go with gunnite.  After interviewing 3 companies, I went with Castlerock based on both price and the company representative, Bill Belser.  Bill was helpful, not only during the installation process but also afterwards.  This was my first pool experience and Bill was very responsive to my questions and most often, came out to walk me through various processes in pool maintenance.   I am enjoying the pool immensely and have had no problems with it. "We contacted Jason as a result of the reviews of his work on Angies List.  Jason is a working owner and uses his cell phone to conduct business so, unsurprisingly, it took us a couple of phone tags before we finally connected.  Jason came out after a full day of work and spent about 30 minutes with us discussing possible solutions to the drainage issues we wanted to address.  We settled on installation of a 40-ft retaining wall and a flower bed behind it, as well as modification of the existing irrigation system to accommodate the new construction.  We also asked Jason to do the work necessary to cap off and move any irrigation lines and equipment that would be affected by a related concrete installation project.  During the course of this work, we expanded the scope of the project to include locating and repairing a leak elsewhere in the irrigation system, reviewing and replacing spray nozzles throughout the system as appropriate, and some other general landscaping work.
Jason and his crew arrived within a few days as scheduled.  I was even surprised to see a crew report for a half-day's work on Saturday.  They did a good job of carefully exposing the irrigation lines without damage and recovering parts that we can use during reinstallation.  The retaining wall also has been completed and looks great.  We are on hold for completion of the reinstallation work and remaining landscape pending completion of the concrete work by another contractor and scheduling of Jason's crew.
Jason can be a little difficult to get hold of, and we went a couple of days wondering about the pace of the work, but I'm willing to attribute that to the fact that Jason is already working all day, a probably-misplaced expectation on my part of instant response now that we all carry cell phones, and the fact that I'm a former project manager.  To his credit, Jason accommodated several changes in the scope of work to be done during the project.  He and his team do good work, are dependable, and are fairly priced.  We have been having problems with our current landscaper (Jordan's Landscaping) and hope to replace them with Landscaping Creations for our future work.

"We are extremely pleased with the work that Philip and his team did for us. This was a fairly big budget project for us. It is always hard to know what you're getting into with a contractor or landscaper that you haven't worked with before. I'm glad to report that this project went smoothly and was done well.
The initial phase of the project was the approval from the Homeowner's Association. Philip was great to work with during this phase. Our home was new construction, so it was somewhat of a blank slate to begin with. We had to think through several aspects of the total scope and determine what on our "wish list" would fit into our budget. He made a few trips to our site discussing different options and pricing those out for us. He had great suggestions and definitely helped us hone in on the best design ideas.
The great experience continued during the project itself. He and his team showed up on time, worked hard, and were careful to leave the site in the best possible condition at the end of each day. Like any project, there were a few things that popped up unexpectedly as the work progressed. They went the extra mile to take care of all the small details.
We couldn't be more pleased with the outcome. It looks great and we think that it will really help with the erosion issues. I would highly recommend their team for similar work and wouldn't hesitate to have more work done if needed.
The job was looks great and was completed on time and on budget. No negative surprises at all, but a certainly a few positive ones. They took care of a couple of things that we hadn't thought about on the front end. We could not have asked for more.
I think it is worth sharing a comment on the financial arrangement as well. I think they do it in a fair and professional way. Our project took a few weeks. He asked us for a deposit up front and a weekly draw. I think this is a reasonable process for a small business who is doing custom work. We kept the running totals and squared that up a couple of times along the way. In the end, the total was exactly what we had agreed to up front.
If you have work to be done, I'd definitely recommend that you consider Hardscapes by the Yard.
