"I had All Aspects Waterproofing come out on Aug. 13th to inspect my basement and provide an estimate. To date, 8/31/18, I still have NOT received an estimate. The inspector promised he would give me an estimate by Friday, 8/17/18, which I did not receive. Most inspectors give you an estimate on the spot so I don't understand why he said 8/17/18, but I thought maybe he was just being more thorough. The following week I still didn't have an estimate so I called the office and they said he would call me back shortly. He did and promised to have an estimate to me sometime that weekend. I still received no estimate. So, I called the office again on 8/28 or 8/29 and they told me they would get back with me. I still have heard NOTHING from them. Not that I would every hire them now, but that's ridiculous. I don't see how AAW has such good ratings when they can't even provide a customer with an estimate. That's the easiest part. The sad part is, the inspector is very friendly, but he didn't follow through at all and neither did the company once I complained."

"Though my experiences with my Project Manager Chris were all pleasant, I cannot say the same for the contractors themselves who came to work on my home. It was an abysmal experience. After major water pipe damage, I needed immediate emergency demolition followed by restoration. While I continue to be grateful that my situation was considered priority and they began their work in a relatively timely manner, I couldn't allow that to make up for the behavior of the gentlemen at work. The lack of attention to detail and care led to many mistakes, some of which were never truly fixed, some I'm glad I caught before they could allow them to stay that way, such as when they purposelessly unplugged my refrigerator to work behind it, pushed it back in place, and never plugged it back in (it never needed unplugged in the first place). Other problems include: - Taking numerous smoke breaks, up to three an hour, and leaving butts in my yard (we have no smokers in the house). - Using my bathrooms too excessively, leaving a smell and a mess. I understand needing the restroom, but their direct boss would sometimes just show up to use my bathroom and leave, and at any given point at least one of them would be in there. - Doing things incorrectly. They were asked to repaint entire walls, as one would do when restoring them so that it may match, however they only painted over the original problematic areas and called it a day. As well as using the wrong color of paint altogether for one of my rooms and pretending as if they didn't notice until I pointed it out. They added new wall tiles to my bathroom, failed to explain that they weren't made to withstand high humidity, and they've since begun peeling off. Pantry doors were hung unlevel and I couldn't believe I had to explain that they weren't on correctly. I also had a restored carpet that now has holes in the padding underneath that you can feel when you walk over it, they attempted three times to fix it, and every time failed. It remains unfixed because my frustrations grew too large to continue asking. When I first mentioned the carpet problem to one of the contractors, I was met with a shrug and the response of, "We can only do what's on the invoice." You mean the invoice that charges me for you to fix my rug? Huh?? - Leaving my back door hung open and tracking dirt in, as well as wasps and flies, good thing I caught this one before it got worse, otherwise they would've continued. Every surface that could be touched, was touched with dirty hands, and every day I had to clean dirt and dried plaster off of random areas of my house after they left. -Using my things. I had to request they not use my personal garbage for their empty Monster Energy cans, Twinkie wrappers, and random debris. A restoration company should be equipped with trash bags one would imagine. They also freely used my personal dustpan and broom which I'm shocked they didn't have one of, as well as using a pack of baby wipes without asking and leaving them open as well as covered in plaster. I also discovered my upstairs bathroom covered in trash after one of them spilled the bathroom can and never picked up what fell out. I was shocked at how badly these grown men behaved. I'm no saint, but common decency and curtesy should be a major priority when you're in someone else's home, regardless of what you're doing. I felt genuinely disrespected by the employees of this company. When I'm listening to the sounds of someone hawking a loogie into my bathroom sink and flushing without washing their hands and touching everything I own afterwards, something is inherently wrong with who you've hired. Again I must stress, Chris was great and the timeframe to get things started was very agreeable. It's the process itself that dragged due to all the above reasons. After doing a final review with Chris, I was compensated for a lot of the invoice charges that were either irrelevant or just plain done incorrectly, though am still awaiting the check after three weeks. I'm just glad it's over. Be weary of who you let in your home."

Radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the U.S. The gas seeps through cracks in foundations and collects in basements and other low areas. Once you breathe it in, radioactive particles lodge in lung tissue and do long-term damage. Because you can’t see or smell radon, the EPA recommends testing your home every two years—and after major renovations—to keep your family safe.
Yes—every home should be tested. The EPA advises doing it at least every two years and any time you remodel, buy, or sell. On average, one in 15 houses nationwide sits above the recommended limit, and the only way to know where yours stands is a formal test. The equipment simply measures gas levels and won’t change your indoor environment, so the process is completely harmless.
Certified radon professionals—often home inspectors or dedicated radon mitigation contractors—handle testing. These radon testing professionals follow EPA protocols and use calibrated instruments to check levels throughout your house. Hiring a certified radon specialist means results you can trust for real estate deals, insurance requirements, and, most importantly, your family’s health.
Inspectors specialize in measuring radon gas levels, while licensed mitigation contractors design and install the systems that remove it. If your test comes back high, your inspector can point you to a qualified mitigation pro who will size and install the right fan, piping, or other equipment to bring levels down.
No—standard home air purifiers don’t touch radon. They’re built to trap dust and pollen, not radioactive gas. If testing shows high levels, you’ll need a dedicated mitigation system that vents the gas from beneath your home to the outdoors. Relying on a room purifier alone won’t keep your indoor air safe.
Opening a few windows in your home might dilute radon for a short time, but the gas seeps back in as soon as they’re closed. For a lasting fix, you’ll need a professional mitigation system—often a sub-slab depressurization fan—that pulls radon from beneath the foundation and safely vents it outside.
