"<strong>Gleaming The View:</strong> <br /> Contacted them through the e-mail provided on their web site. I was able to send them a picture showing the exact work I wanted done. Received an e-mail reply (from a real person) very quickly and I was able to arrange an estimation appointment. <br /> The estimator came out and spent time to go over the exterior work I wanted done with the house. He provided advice, answered questions, and didn't try to pressure me into extra work or have to agree right then. He wrote out a detailed estimate with each portion broken out. I decided to go with moss removal and treatment of the North facing roof, moss removal of the driveway/sidewalk (really needed it), pressure washing of the vinyl siding on the North, West, and South facing walls, and cleaning of the gutters. <br /> All through the processes they followed up by e-mail to let me know when the work was being done. I didn't have to do a thing. I just came home to find my roof, driveway, sidewalk and vinyl siding clean. The house looks brand new again. I highly recommend them for cleaning up the exterior of your home. My HOA will be happy, or at least they won't send me hate mail this year about the moss at any rate. <br /> <strong>A note about contractors and technology:</strong> <br /> I have been dealing with many contractors lately for multiple house projects, so I'm getting a good feel as to what counts for professionalism. It's 2015 and you would expect contractors to take advantage of all forms of communication including the Angie's list schedule feature, their own web site contact forms, e-mail, and the phone. Sadly, too many contractors can't or won't respond to estimate requests unless you aggressively follow up by phone. Failure to follow up with your potential customers is a big red flag. It's sign of how they will behave once they have your contract. If they don't respond on the first try, I don't give them a second chance. <br /> Gleaming the View gets an A+ from me on their use of technology and customer service. I wish other contractors would follow their example. <br />"

"The app is convenient but the service is mediocre at best. I've used the app for around 1 year and nearly every alternate time, I have a no show from the service personnel. While they offer a discount coupon of 10% or so when that happens, Handy takes full amount credit in the reverse i.e, when a cancellation occurs within 24 hours from the customer, which I think is questionable. The service personnel are mostly decent but I've had better service from local providers."

"Keith came to my home a few weeks prior to doing the actual work in order to look over exactly what I wanted done, which I welcomed and for which he did not charge me for doing. He was thorough in his inspection of everything I wanted to have done. When he returned on a later date to do the work, he arrived well prepared and brought with him a huge assortment of tools. He worked quickly and efficiently, and did an excellent job in every way. Keith is friendly, helpful, and is a very skillful handyman. I highly recommend General Fix-It. <br />"

"Don arrived on time. I went over everything I was concerned about with my motorhome and then Don went right to work. Don did not have the needed part on hand, but was able to get it from a local RV repair shop. He did not charge me for his time to get the part. Not only did he complete all the repairs, he also gave me a few pointers on things that could go wrong/out with my hot water heater and refrigerator, and what I should look for if they do. Although the fee to come to my home was high, it was well worth it in the end. What I learned from Don was invaluable and I know exactly what he did and how he did it. If I had taken the RV to a repair shop, I would not have been able to watch and learn.I will most definitely use them again, but if I'm able, I will plan a trip toward Vancouver, WA so that I am closer to their shop and not have to pay as much for them to come to me. In addition, if you have one or more friends that also need RV repairs that are within a short distance (5-10 miles) from each other, he will split the cost of the travel fee to come to you!"

"Zac Pounder replaced rotted siding on my home and garage's exterior, applied primer, replaced sheetrock on the garage interior, built a beautiful ballistrade and handrail on a loft stairway inside the house, tore down a rotted surround on a backyard deck, installed a step around the deck, and replaced an old backyard gate at no charge, demolished a wooden wheel chair ramp and installed a cement landing at the front door. He accomplished his work in a very timely and professional manner, he does beautiful work with great attention to detail, makes suggestions, and is a delight to work with. He arrived each day when he said he would, and sometimes stayed overtime to complete outside work before the winter rains started. He's a very pleasant and personable man, and I highly recommend Mr. Pounder to anyone in need of home improvement. His work is truly top-notch all the way. He will get more business from me in the future for sure!"
