We are central Ohio's leader in decorative concrete. Many people don't realize the true potential of stamped concrete for driveways, patios, and sidewalks. The durability and longevity of concrete far outlasts other materials, that everyone knows. What most of us miss is that it is extremely easy to maintain and is the most eco-friendly product on the market. With the ability to replicate natural stone, brick, slate, flagstone and more for almost half of the cost, the decorative concrete craze is sweeping the nation. Our technicians have been pioneers in the decorative concrete industry for over 15 years! We combine time tested methods with innovative designs to pave the way into the future of concrete.
"Josh did my patio 2014 and gave me 5 years warranty on cracks and sealer. Once I called so he can fix he blocked all communication. And I have been trying to call him for the past 2 years with no reply at all. My patio is cracking and the color faded after one year"

"Did nice job on patio thats about it. Did not communicate with us unless my husband would call him. When we first called him seemed like everything was good. But then we did not hear from him until we contacted him. He told us he lost our paper work what we wanted done. When he finally did start job said they would be here at 8:00 am did not get here until 1:30 p.m. Then got frustrated trying to get our steps out stopped the job at 6:00 never said a word to us when he was coming back. Did not hear from him for a few days until he sent my husband a long text about he had personality challenges. Then said he never told us he do would do the steps which he did tell us twice and was no problem doing steps. He destroyed our neighbors and our front yard and then never came back to fix the front or backyard. When patio was done started to rain and they came back to cover patio with our pool solar cover which is now ruined. Being contractors think they would have the materials for when things happen with rain. To me very unprofessional."

"Jamie and Brad painted the interior of our entire 4 bedroom house. The job was big, but was finished in 5 days. They were here promptly at the time they stated they would be on all 5 days and worked 8 hours each day to complete the job in a timely manner. They did a great job and also offered to do other work needed in our home at very reasonable prices. We will call on Jamie/J E Construction for future work on our home as they do it all! Iâ m a pretty picky person but I highly recommend! ð ð ¼ð ð ¼"

"They contacted me promptly and were out within a couple of hours as they were working close by. I needed a large rock removed and they had the equipment and knowledge necessary to remove it. The price was reasonable, and they took care of a situation we wanted resolved for years. Matt was great and knew exactly what to do. Highly recommended."

"Raschke Concrete and Construction was hired to pour 2 concrete slabs and 2 transition pieces at our business (The Sandstone Retreat) totaling 14 yards on concrete for the price of $10,000. The owner Gabriel Raschke assured me that it would be no problem and that he could start next but he required half the money to get started. We told him that my wife and I got him name off of Angi's list but since we didn't know him we were only willing to give him 2,500 now and when he was finished with the forms we would give him a check for $5,000 to pay for the 14 yards of concrete. The concrete was supposed to be poured on Friday February 28th, 2025 so I took a personal day to supervise the job. Gabriel Raschke came Friday morning and informed me that the concrete will not be there until Monday March 3rd, 2025. I was not happy about this but if it had to be pushed back then it gets pushed back but I told him that I would not be on site that day. I instructed a good friend that was doing some work at the Sandstone Retreat that day to keep an eye on them and let me know how the concrete progress was going. The 1st concrete truck showed up around 12:45 on Monday March 3, 2025 and Raschke Concrete and Excavation started the concrete slab. I called my friend and was asking how the concrete was going. He informed me that they started so I said send me some pictures. He sent me some pictures and had some concerns about how it looked but I figured that it would be fine. My friend sent me more pictures about 20 minutes later and confirmed my concerns. I called my friend at the Sandstone and asked what was going on and he told me that it's not good. I sent Gabriel Raschke a text at 3:16 PM and asked what was going on but didn't get a response back from him until 6:37 PM saying that he is going to call the concrete company because they put to much calcium in the concrete and it set up to quickly. Gabriel called me and told me the whole story and said that there was too much Calcium in the concrete and he could get the job done because it set up to quickly. I told him that was not my problem and asked him how they are going to fix it. He said that he will put a skim coat of mortar on it and it would look good. I told him that won't fix the problem and that I want it all chipped out and removed."

Why work with us? Southern Grove Landscaping was established nineteen years ago, in 1986, by a graduate from Ohio State University who studied in depth what it takes to achieve perfection in your landscape surroundings. Award-winning landscapes do not just look good for one season -- an excellent landscape should transcend the season with plants chosen for our Ohio climate and accents of stonework and design variation that command attention. That's our specialty. While everyone thinks about flowers in the spring and mowing the grass in the summer, your yard needs special attention throughout the year: during the winter delicate plants should be wrapped or transferred inside; in the spring the landscaping always needs extra special care to make sure the plants and lawn start the year off right. Summer heat means that proper watering and fertilization are important to keep plants healthy, whereas in the fall, trees and shrubs begin to go dormant, so transplantation then preven ts shock to the plant and helps to ensure healthy new growth in the spring. We are pleased to announce our nineteenth anniversary of making Columbus and surrounding areas beautiful. We're humbled by the positive response we've had from our clients and we hope to make many more beautiful landscapes for you and your families to enjoy. Give us a call and we will meet with you for a free consultation at your convenience. ASSOCIATION Better Business Bureau
"Excellent! They were done in 3 days, and it looks wonderful. A little slow with communication and scheduling in the beginning, but remained professional and did a great job. I have recommended them several times to other neighbors and friends."

Building codes require you to anchor concrete steps to the house foundation or slab so they can’t shift or settle. If your home doesn’t have a standard foundation, a contractor will pour a small footing or create a gravel base that meets local specs. Proper anchoring keeps the staircase stable, prevents cracks, and helps it last for decades while staying code-compliant.
Concrete stairs are more costly than wood or steel options. They cost about $200 to $600 per step—roughly double the $100 to $200 you’d pay for wood. The higher price comes from the extra labor, specialized forms, and strict code requirements that go into safely mixing, pouring, and curing concrete.
Keep your concrete steps in shape by sweeping, regularly rinsing them, and rolling on a quality sealer or porch paint every year or two. During each cleaning, look for cracks, chips, or spots of erosion. Catching small problems early keeps water out, maintains the structural strength of the steps, and helps the stairs stay safe—and good-looking—for decades.
