"John and his team did an excellent job. They were very candid and honest about pricing, and got us a fair price on a custom sliding door. Installation went smoothly and they cleaned up everything before they left."

"Alex and his assistant brought life back to 40+ year old Pella doors. Saved us $4000+ instead of installing new. Lived too long with screeching stubborn doors. Very pleased! Now they just glide! Beyond our expectations!!! Thank you so much for the excellence service. Glad to leave an A+ feedback."

"Mike meticulously worked to make sure the door was hung perfectly. He used the right metal anchors that were durable and added hinge shims to keep the door level. Now the door latches upon closing."

Small jobs welcome

"I have had a LOT of contractors doing work throughout my home over the past year in what basically amounted to a full-home remodel. Brian elevated some cabinets in my kitchen and tackled 2 bathroom remodels. Of all of the contractors who came through, Brian was by far the one who took the most ownership and pride in the work that he did. He is very knowledgeable and skilled in a wide variety of trades and he did an excellent job. The only reason for the little ding on his report card here is that it took him quite a bit longer to complete my main bathroom than was originally quoted, but Brian is admittedly a one-man band, and so that can be forgiven, given his excellent work results."

"I had rainwater coming in through a door and window frame. Dario and Juan knew right away that the problem was coming from where my deck meets the siding. They removed deck boards to discover a gap in the siding. Checked for water damage (thankfully no damage). Sealed the gap. I have not had any rainwater issues since. Price was totally reasonable. We discussed other future repairs/projects for my home and I look forward to working with them again. "

"I cannot say enough good things about Abraham and his team. They were indispensible during a challenging and stressful move. Not only did they do a superb job of installing a ceiling fan to an 18ft ceiling, multiple patch repairs, seamlessly replacing and installing bathroom extractor fans that into non standard sized spaces, filling countless nail holes and repainting, and reattaching a dislodged dishwasher, Abraham did all of this amidst the chaos of a move and made MULTIPLE trips to Home Depot to color match paints when I provided the wrong cans. He was patient, thorough, and went WAY above and beyond any expectations in both service, execution, and generosity. If you have anything you need done in your home, make these guys your first call!"

FAQs for storm door installation projects in Naperville, IL

For mobile homes, look for a lightweight storm door designed specifically for manufactured housing. A slimmer frame eases installation and reduces added stress on the doorway, while removable glass or screen panels allow you to switch between airflow and complete protection in minutes. The result is solid weather defense without unnecessary weight and a door that remains easy to operate season after season.

A well-installed and well-maintained storm door can add modest value by improving curb appeal, increasing security, and reducing energy loss. If the door is faded, dented, or hanging loosely, those benefits disappear—and may even harm first impressions. Professional installation ensures the door seal is correctly aligned and keeps the hardware in place, allowing the upgrade to deliver both visual and practical benefits that buyers notice.

Most storm doors last 25 years, and high-end models, when properly cared for, can reach 50 years. Lifespan depends on the frame material, glass quality, and the amount of punishment the door receives from wind, rain, or sun. Regular cleaning, fresh weatherstripping, and prompt repairs keep hinges tight and glass secure, helping the door reach its maximum lifespan.

Allow three to five hours to set a standard pre-hung storm door if the opening is in good condition. If you need to widen the frame or repair wood rot, expect the job to take a whole day to complete. A seasoned installer can complete the job faster and ensure the door sits square, seals tightly, and operates smoothly, saving time that often outweighs the DIY time commitment.

Most single exterior doorways can accommodate a storm door, provided the frame dimensions match those of the new unit. Patio and sliding glass doors are the main exceptions because their tracks won’t support the extra door. If you’re unsure about clearances or hinge placement, consider bringing in a door installer to measure the opening and recommend any necessary adjustments for a secure fit.
