"Summit Fence and their employees are phenomenal! My project was initially discussed, clarified, estimated (price), confirmed in writing and scheduled to begin in a very reasonable amount of time. I was expecting to have to wait much longer and was pleasantly surprised that I was not having to wait as long as other contractors were estimating. Our job lasted one more day than originally thought, however, considering that the employees had to hand dig near buried utilities in order to avoid any costly damage, I was not bothered in the least with this delay. It was to be expected and appreciated. We were always notified when they arrived in the morning, and the foreman/supervisor (Ryan) made several visits to oversee that the project was being completed according to plan. Communication was NEVER LACKING with this company!!"

Devil Mountain Landscape (DML Fence & Deck Company) #1121449 started in Danville, CA in the late 80’s working with a local Nursery Company, Developers (Commercial) and Single Family Homeowners (Residential). The Company officially went independent in 1993 and continued through present day. Commercially we contracted for entire sub-divisions to install all the front yards to individual homes along with the access points and entrances to include large-scale Country Clubs (e.g. Blackhawk C.C.) as well. In 2003, we established State-wide Contracts with Insurance Carriers to Repair & Install Fences (Wood, Iron & Vinyl). In 2010, we began to expand our offering into Block Walls (Masonry & Retaining). In 2017, we became a Preferred Vendor for Construction Loans with U.S. Bank and built several homes in the South Bay (Los Gatos to Gilroy) from $1.5M to 3.0M. In 2019, we migrated to the Sacramento area focusing on Detached Garages and Granny Homes under 1,200 Sq. Ft. We offer extreme diversity to limit the number of Sub-Contractors necessary for any project while maintaining high quality and competitive pricing, so you (the Homeowner) end up with your vision of what your property should look like at a reasonable Cost. We have multiple licenses: C-13 (Fencing), C-27 (Landscaping) & B (General Building). As of today (2025), our focus is primarily Fences, Decks and detached Garages/ADU's. We will consider custom projects that incorporate those skills!
"Scott and his son did a fantastic job building a 100 foot plus split rail fence for me. Scott was responsive and very professional throughout the process. He met with me right away at the job site, submitted a reasonable estimate and installed the fence as soon as he got the ordered materials. I'd use him again!"

We first began building gardens in California in 1970. In 1982 we moved to Nevada County, California, where we remain today. As a small, family-owned business, our primary focus has been custom residential landscaping. However, we have done both public and commercial jobs, as well as ecological restoration and small scale agricultural and horticultural development. Long ago we determined not to grow our company beyond the point where we, as owners, could not actively participate in field work on a daily basis. This practice allows us to consistently turn out individual, well-crafted projects. Our work continues today on a local and regional basis, from Lake Tahoe to the Pacific. We have an ongoing commitment to improve our craft both technically and aesthetically.

Most pros need about two days to install a standard chain-link fence—one day to set the posts in concrete and another to stretch and tie the mesh. Larger footprints, complex layouts, or rocky soil can tack on extra hours. If your fence line tops 150 feet, ask the contractor for a tailored timeline so you know exactly when the yard will be secure.
A well-maintained chain-link fence typically lasts 15 to 20 years. Upgrading to galvanized, powder-coated, or vinyl-coated wire can push that life span closer to 30 years by warding off rust and sun damage. Plan to inspect the mesh and hardware each season; tightening loose ties early prevents sagging that leads to bigger repairs. Because fixes run $300 to $800—and sometimes more than $1,500—a few minutes of yearly maintenance is the cheapest insurance you can buy.
Yes—chain-link almost always beats wood on price. While wood runs $20 to $50 per linear foot, chain-link falls between $8 and $40. The final gap depends on your fence height, local labor rates, and any extras like decorative caps or privacy slats. If budget is your top concern, a galvanized chain-link fence delivers solid security for far less cash than cedar or pine panels.
Temporary chain-link panels average about $2 per linear foot per month, but location, fence length, and rental duration all affect the quote. Short-term leases usually include delivery, setup, and teardown fees, so ask for an all-in price before you sign. If you need the fence for several months, negotiate a lower monthly rate or look into buying used panels instead.
A standard chain-link fence won’t drag down your home’s value, but it won’t add much either. Curb-appeal upgrades—think powder-coat colors or wood posts—can make the fence look more polished and buyer-friendly. More important, a sturdy, well-installed fence signals clear property lines and adds a layer of security, both of which buyers appreciate. In other words, quality installation matters more than the material alone when it comes to resale impressions.
